♦ Elder Miller week 1 (8-22-2022)

Here we go...week one in the books.. wow! I am officially a missionary por la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días!

I have loved every minute of the first of my two weeks of home MTC and am so grateful for this gospel. I wasn't sure if each day would feel really long with so much time on a screen- but it's been a spiritual high- learning so much!  My district is awesome, we all are super tight already and just growing together. My companero, Elder Eggleston is the BEST. Seriously he is such a stud and we've had a lot of fun together already. My days are always full and I am always ready to crash by the end of it. I'm pumped to continue learning with the district at the MTC in Provo soon.

Spanish has been great. I definitely feel like I am at ground zero but everyday I am getting a little better... I hope;). My Spanish coach Hermana Quigley is so kind and patient as I struggle to speak spanish. I am getting more comfortable everyday saying my prayers in espanol. I've been so lucky to be a part of so many powerful devotionals along with 430+ missionaries who have just started like me. I have loved being a part of this great work. My teachers Hermana Speakman and Hermano Nelson are so awesome and I feel the spirit from their lessons every class.

We've really hit home on the restoration of the gospel this week, learning about the principles and lesson plans. It is so amazing to see the spirit that is felt when we teach about the first vision of Joseph Smith. Every time... It is so cool and I have seen my testimony grow from it so much.
My very first Preparation day was a blast as I got to spend it with my family playing pickleball, lunch out, going to the temple, and I even got a nap in.  I needed that. I have so much to learn but I am ready and willing to do the Lord's work and I'm grateful to have begun this journey as His missionary.

Scripture of the week in Isaiah 53:5, "he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities...and with his stripes we are healed". I am eternally grateful for my Savior's sacrifice and Atonement. He is the only way.

All the best in the week ahead. I feel your support already!
