headed to the field- Mission home in Curaco

OH my mama heart is racing and I just am flustered about this flight.  RIght now there is a hurricane (Hurricane Ian) that is touching down in Florida-- more near Orlando- but causing issues all through Florida at all airports.  I just checked and Miles is currently in flight from SLC to PHX.  According to the airline, his flight from PHX to Miami is still on schedule to leave at 9:43pm but when I went to check his Miami to Curacao flight, the one scheduled for today is cancelled-- and tomorrow's (that he's on is still scheduled, but who knows) Time to activate FAITH! Heavenly Father knows HIS missionaries are in flight and on the way-- I trust Him!

We were able to talk to Miles briefly on his first pday in the field.  He said his flights went well and the group of 13 missionaries arrived safely as planned in Curaco.  Several few out quickly to their assignements- Dutch speakers to Suriname, English speakers to Guyana, and a spanish elder to Bonaire- but Miles was unable to get his flight to his first area- ARUBA Noord (Northern Aruba) until a few days later, which worked out well because he was able to stay over with the AP's and watch conference with his mission president and office missionaries.  I think it's neat he got a little more opportunity to get to know his mission president and the AP's-- but he was also excteid to be flying out tonight to Aruba-- to meet his trainer, Elder Lopez- who is American, but hispanic and a fluent Spanish speaker.  He has only been out for 3 transfers, but must be a great missionary to be training so soon.  Miles seemed reallly excited about his assignment and had a great atttitude about the humidity, the mosquitos, and things in general.  My mama heart was so proud to see him at this launch.  Love him so!
