MTC GRADUATE- mission bound

Elder Miller, MTC graduate, top honors

You are on your way! You did it! Home MTC   Provo MTC   Complete first transfer with companion   Board plane for mission      You’ve been so ready for today, preparing for these 6 mtc weeks, preparing since primary, preparing since before the world was… the Lord needs you now exactly where he’s sending you.  It is amazing to think of the light you’ll share and how it will change people forever—what a ripple effect—it’s so awesome.

I am sure you are feeling a little nervous too- but you are very good at hard things—and you can do this.  You have already set the tone for your missionary service and we are so proud of your effort, your diligence, your ability to lead and love and be Christlike.  You will have a lot to learn from your trainer- and he doesn’t have to be a dream comp to teach you what the Lord wants you to know. I hope he is- but just know- you set your own bar—it’s between you and the Lord.  I am so excited for you to love your new comp, to discover your area and to get to work!  Pace yourself- it’s okay that it is unknown and overwhelming right now.  It’s okay that it takes a few days to settle in and feel up to the task.  Sure you’ll jump in- but be realistic with allowing yourself all the feelings- process them with prayer and when turn it all over to  your Heavenly Father—He will help you- He needs YOU in this work! He is aware of every stage of your missionary experience.

Keep actively choosing to be your best self; choosing to do I love what President & Sister Nelson said in a fireside recently (of course it applies to all of us, but when I read it now, I think of my missionary):

Find and fulfill your mortal missions. My dear friends, premortally you and I were each given wonderful missions to fulfill while we are here on earth.

We have opportunities to fulfill our mortal missions, but we don’t have to. No one will make us. We have our agency to choose how we spend our time and energy, our talents and resources. In fact, what we choose to do is actually part of our testing.

The choice is yours and mine. Will we choose to do whatever it takes to fulfill the wonderful missions for which we were sent to earth?” Worldwide Youth Devotional • June 3, 2018 •

It’s specific, you will be qualified to do it, and it is known by God. I know a mission feels like a long time (and it is—believe me it feels long to me!) but it’s such a specific window to give him your all and see what miracles He is ready to work with you. Even with all of the nerves and tiredness you must be feeling—I bet there’s a little bit  snowplow guy “oh yeaaahhhh” in there—it’s game time!  (that’s what I feel when I listen to that pump song you sent—you should listen to it on the plane today if you can)

You are in all of our prayers- I hope you know how mindful every single one of us is of you- they pray for you in the temple as the Lord’s missionaries, and I know the leadership of the church has confidence in you and speaks of you in their prayers too.

When that missionary chorus sings in conference this mama will be crying.  But tears of so much joy- so much gratitude—to have a missionary serving, a missionary loving, a missionary striving- my heart couldn’t want anything more for you.

Try to rest a little on the plane—if you can.  You’re going to land and it will all begin—and I know, right at that moment, legions of angels will be cheering—"Hurrah for Israel!! Elder Miller has touched down!!”

Let’s Goooo Miles… it’s your turn- and we can’t wait to follow your journey!  We love you more than you’ll ever know- You’ve definitely got this and the Lord of all has got you. Never forget it!

Xoxoxo
