♦Elder Miller week 21 (1-9-23)
Bon Siman Hende!
Hey everybody! Hope all is good! It has been a great week here in Aruba! My area has been one of the slower areas for the longest time, but it is finally picking up and it has been super fun to see. Here is a little update from me..
Our friend who is on date for baptism named Benjamin came to church! It took us pulling up to his house Sunday morning and getting a ride with him, but hey, he made it! He was our miracle this week. It is so neat to see the Lord preparing him for baptism.
We had kapsalon this week! Like fries with smoked meat on top and a ton of different sauces! If you ever come to the ABC islands it is a must. Not the most healthy thing in the world but it's super good and even if you weigh a few more pounds after..... Worth it!
Other than that, we've been making a ton of new friends and mixing up our teaching pool. We had another fun exchange this week and I got to meet another Elder on the island. We ate some expired chocolate that ruined our stomachs for a day. We got to ride a bike that was at least 12 feet long. I am great and loving my time out here in Aruba. Trying to live it up with my time left on this island, because every six months at least I'll get booted to another island.
I was reading in the book of Alma this week from the Book of Mormon and loved this verse in chapter 41...
8 Now, the decrees of God are unalterable; therefore, the way is prepared that whosoever will may walk therein and be saved.
It really is that simple. Christ's hand is always outstretched to us. Always. Let him in and be one of His disciples. When he invites us to, "Come, follow me", he means it. President Nelson said following Him is the only way we can find true and lasting joy in this life. I love that! If you haven't yet, or you have wandered, start today!
Love you all! Thanks for all you do for me. The emails and prayers mean so much to me! Go have a great week and make someone else's!
