♦ Elder Miller week 23 (1-23-23)

Halo, Bon Siman!

Hey everyone! This week was great! We had zone conference and our zone is over the entire ABC islands so it was so fun to have everyone fly into the zone conference! There are only about twenty of us missionaries between the islands so we are all close and it was so fun to catch up with them all..

At the zone conference one of the Elders in my district is Tongan so we did a special musical number in Tongan during the conference, and it was pretty neat. I had been memorizing this song for the past couple weeks so it is kind of nice to have it over, so I don't have to practice another language.

This week is the last week of the Transfer, which is exciting and kind of scary because I have really had a blast this last transfer. It'll be interesting to see how things get mixed up, and this time next week I'll know if I am staying in Aruba or not. Crazy.

So long story short we have used this one dirt trail behind our apartment to get to our friends in another part of the island, and it saves us so much time, but the last week or two somebody came and started blocking the path with huge thorn bushes so we couldn't use it anymore. So this week we found another way to make it a shortcut but it involved a couple different mornings of chopping through weeds and cactus, but now we have a little homemade trail that we can use. We have our fingers crossed that our path-blocking friend doesn't find it too.:)

I was reading in Alma in the Book of Mormon this past week and loved this verse in chapter 19.

36... thus the Lord did begin to pour out his Spirit upon them; and we see that his arm is extended to all people who will repent and believe on his name.

We have been teaching a friend recently about how God doesn't need someone who doesn't make mistakes. He loves all and wants those who make mistakes and want to change. It has been very neat to teach this friend how God simply wants our best, and He will take care of the rest. (whoa! I just rhymed that;). I love how this scripture illustrates how His hand is always outstretched…..to everyone! Go to Him, and find rest like our prophet has said.

Hope this week will be a blast for you all! Lots of love here from Aruba! -Elder Miller
