♦ Elder Miller week 29 (3-6-23)

Bon Luna Tur!

Crazy it is March! February flew by! It feels weird not having two or three bracket predictions filled out by now(March Madness is the best!;) It was a crazy week to say the least..Quick in some parts and kind of slow in others, but here are some of the highlights...

It was zone conference week so all the missionaries in the islands flew into Aruba, and a fun surprise for us Elders in Noord was that the assistants to the mission president were going to sleep over at our house. It was so fun to hang out that night with them, they are the best, and they are always cracking me up. We had to at least play the card game "monopoly deal" 3 or 4 times. The next day was zone conference, and I loved all the trainings. I always learn so much from them, and my mission president gave a great one on the Atonement and how we can become better teachers of it. It’s always a treat to get lunch at zone conference and this time his wife made us all "Cafe Rio" style burritos and they were delicious! I had pork for the first time on my mission and it was sooo good.

That same night my comp and I were biking around our area and I have been using a spare bike for the last week or so, but we were on the highway picking up speed when my bike decided to lockout on a couple different gears. I was launched forward and remember hitting my head so hard on the asphalt. It was a blessing that I landed where I did and not on the other side of the road into oncoming traffic, but I got banged up pretty good. So many people stopped and helped me, it was actually so neat how many people stopped to check on me. We even got a ride from this sweet Dutch couple home. The people on this island are so kind and I love them! (No broken bones or concussions from the crash too. such a blessing).

Later in the week we put our friend Rubenita on date! So legit! I found her with my trainer on my first transfer back in October and it has been so cool to see her progress. Her baptism is planned for early April and I am so pumped for her.

This might be my last full week in Aruba with transfers coming up but we will see. I love this island so much and have my fingers crossed I'll be back soon.

I studied faith a lot this week and loved this verse in a chapter all about faith in Alma in the Book of Mormon...

But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.

"Even if ye can no more than desire to believe". It all starts with a particle of faith. That is all our Heavenly Father asks of us. President Nelson has said, "Faith in Jesus Christ is the greatest power available to us in this life. All things are possible to them that believe". That is pretty amazing. So I invite you to ask yourself "What I would do with more faith", and then go do it. Go do something that requires faith and you won't regret it, I promise!

Have a great week, Lots of love from Aruba. If you see a bike would you kick it for me;)
