♦ Elder Miller week 34 (4-10-23)
Ke Der? (Moroccan Arabic "How are you?")
Hey everyone! Hope all is well! This week we ran into a man from Morocco who sells coconuts down by the cruise ships. He taught us a dialect of Arabic and shared with us his Muslim beliefs. Pretty cool, it always surprises me the different kinds of people we run into.
It was a great week. Went quick, and we got to end it off with Easter! Hope it was special for your families!
I got to go fishing! A recent convert took us to his special spot and we had a ton of fun. We were fishing for bigger fish out deep but there were tons of little guys all around and we caught an octopus and an eel! Pretty crazy! It was so fun to be able to fish again!
The work is going great here! Almost time for a new building because of how many members we have! We were able to put one of our friends on date for baptism this week for May and I'm so stoked for him. His name is Almonte!

We usually have temple classes every Thursday night at the church and this last week we were able to join a zoom link with missionaries in the Washington D.C. temple visitor center. They took us on a tour outside the temple and it was so neat to see the reactions of the members in our branch. It is so special to them and most of them have never been and can't go. I love the temple!
We had a lesson with a big family who had just moved to Bonaire from Haiti only a few weeks ago. They came from a sad, dangerous set up there and it was so neat to see them eager to find hope and religion. I am so excited to continue teaching them!
I got to go to a Protestant church this last week for one of their services. It was way sweet to see a bunch of faithful people going hard at what they believe. Oh my goodness though. Sooo loud, kinda felt like a concert/basketball game. They were so hyped- Pretty fun to see how other people worship!
A quick verse I loved from my studies this week in 3 Nephi in the Book of Mormon. Matches our Easter theme!
15 And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come.
I am so grateful for the knowledge that our Savior lives! That He physically came and visited His people and that He continues to visit us when we need Him. I know that He suffered for each one of us. I am so grateful to be able to testify in His name.
Thanks for all the emails. They always make my day!
