♦ Elder Miller week 37 (5-1-23)

 Bon Siman!

Hey everyone! Crazy it is May! Hope this last week was great! I had a fun first week of the transfer and we are seeing so many little miracles!
First this last wednesday we went to a local gym that had a few courts where we knew a lot of guys would be playing basketball. We both love to play and we thought it would be a sweet way to go finding. At first all these Dominicans see our tags and back off, calling us "los mormones" like they didn't want to mess with missionaries. After awhile they saw we actually could play and they opened up a ton. It was a blast! After our first game we were on the sideline and across the building a woman started waving at us. We hurried over and she was super warm. She said she had talked to missionaries in the past and would love for us to come over and teach her family. It was a miracle! It is a family of eight and I am so stoked to start teaching them. The rest of bball was way fun and they all want us back which is so sweet.
We also were able to help a lot of people through service this last week, and it always makes my day when I see their reactions after we are done. So fun and is a nice mix-up to the day.
Last saturday I was able to hop on a video call for the baptism of my friend Joanne Quandus. It was so neat and the spirit was so strong. I am blessed to have been a part of her conversion story. I still remember the night when she reached out to my comp and I with the desire to learn more. I am so happy for her!
Not much else to report here. The wind has been low these last few weeks which only makes it feel hotter and more humid. There is lots of sun time out here for sure but I am loving it!
A quick thought I have from my study in the Book of Mormon this week...10 And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.

I am so grateful for the cleansing power of Christ's Atonement. With it, I always have another chance, and I can be forgiven every time I come up short. He does that for each of us, but only after we turn back to Him.
Have a great week! Smile! Life is so good!-Elder Miller
