♦Elder Miller week 43 (Bonaire and Curacao)
First half of week Bonaire- second half Curacao
Bon tardi!
Hope all is well! I am doing good! Got to Curacaó this last week and it's so sweet! A lot different than the other islands. Way more people and just a bigger island in general has been a fun adjustment! I am already meeting so many neat people and the members here are the best!
Sad to say bye to Bonaire but I think I'll be back. I hope so...so much good happening there. The branch here is elect! We are working so hard to split the branch into two because there are about 100 members at church every week.
I got kinda a brutal welcome here though when I flew in and we got dropped off at the apartment, the entire island was in a blackout of electricity. It lasted the rest of the day and about halfway into the night before it came back on. It was so so hot. Apparently it will happen off and on all summer when it is too hot and the government wants to sa ve energy. Bracing myself for that. But today there is power so we'll count our blessings!😂
It is so neat to be a missionary out here though man. I'm shocked everyday at the way some people have to live. So many people who need help and it is teaching me so much. I love the people in these islands!
Quick thought from the Book of Mormon I loved this week.
Helaman 3:27
27 Thus we may see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name.
That is so true! When we humble ourselves enough to go to the Lord and ask for forgiveness, that is when we will see change! I invite you all with me to strengthen your relationship with our Heavenly Father. He wants you to talk to Him!
Have a great week! Thanks for all the support! I feel it!
