♦ Elder Miller week 55 (9/4/23)

Bon siman! Happy Labor Day!

Hey everyone! Crazy it is September now. One quick flight got me back over to Aruba this last week, and it is so fun to be back. Best part of the week had to be coming back to the branch I started in and reuniting with all the members. One friend, Rubenita, we had found in my first weeks in Aruba last year is now baptized and just so involved. It was so sweet to see her walk into the church yesterday! Also an inactive couple I had gotten to work a lot with last year came to church as well with their newborn baby for a blessing. So legit. It made me so happy to see them there.

In my new area we cover a lot of area, so we are still trying to figure it out. My new companion Elder Priebe is a stud, and from Idaho so that's been fun. He just finished up his training and loves the work. First area I've had with a car which has been a fun mix up. I'm sure I'll get some more time with the bikes though.

We made a quick airport run a few days ago to pick up some brand new Elders who flew in from the MTC. Fun to see their reactions and get to see some new faces. They'll bring a fresh energy to the work here that'll be great.

As I was reading in the Book of Mormon last week I came across a scripture that really touched me as it talked about God's love for all of His children and specifically those on the 'isles of the sea".
2 Nephi 10:21
21 But great are the promises of the Lord unto them who are upon the isles of the sea; wherefore as it says isles, there must needs be more than this, and they are inhabited also by our brethren.

I love that! I love that God is aware of His children out here in the islands who I get to rub shoulders with. Even more than that, I love that if He cares so much for the one soul out in the middle of the seas, so too does He love each of us. I know He is aware of you and what you go through. He wants YOU home with Him again. He won't forget about you.

Have another great week! Thanks to all those who reach out to me! I feel loved!
