♦ Elder Miller week 81 (3/4/24)
Bon dia! I miss papiamento!
How is everyone? Its been quite the week here in Guyana. Thank you for your prayers and emails!
The work here is progressing! We have been working closely with an inactive family in our area lately and yesterday one of them came back to church after many years away.
I am eating some spicy food here. The indian culture loves to put pepper on everything. When I first heard about it I thought it was the black stuff that goes with salt. Nope. Sometimes it adds a nice flavor to the dish but sometimes, man, its just a lot of spice.
Starting to get back in the groove of biking. We have had some long hot days this past week so my fingers are crossed the Amazon will bring some rain this way!
I was able to finish the Book of Mormon this week. I know that it is of God and that we can learn all we need to know and do in this life if we choose to abide by it. One verse in one of the final chapters really stood out to me and I wanted to share it with you all...
Ether 12:4
4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.
Whether in a time of rejoicing and goodness or a time of sorrow and sickness, Jesus Christ stands as 'an anchor to the souls of men'. Regardless of what might come next, know that the Savior and Redeemer of us all will always be there. Our eternal rock.
This week is going to be a good one!
