♦ Elder Miller week 85 (4/1/24)

Buenas!

This week was good! Just a couple of days ago I got my new companion. He was in Mexico on a reassignment waiting for his visa. I'm excited to show him around and get to work.

Our friend Josefa was baptized this past weekend and confirmed on Easter Sunday. It was pretty special. She amazes me, she doesn't speak English and very little Spanish. (She is most comfortable with a Venezuelan tribal dialect) but we have been able to work with her and help her feel ready. Her husband is one of our recent converts and they are one of the most faithful couples I have ever met.

Guyana is big about Easter Monday. Everyone has work off and they go to the coast to fly kites. If you are Christian the kite symbolizes Christ rising from the grave which is pretty neat.

As I studied the last week of the Savior's mortal ministry leading up to His Atonement, what He taught here struck me...

John 10:10
... I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

I can testify of the abundance of joy this gospel brings. I have personally witnessed it in the lives of others and myself on my mission. Through His Atonement we can make our life here on earth better. I know He lives! Nothing else this world has to offer could be of greater worth.

Have a great week! Enjoy General Conference!
