October 17, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your
efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. One success from
this week was learning more papiamentu and spanish everyday, I still don't know
a lot but my knowledge is expanding. Another success was just meeting so many
new wonderful people, they've taught me so much. A challenge of the week was
just making the adjustment to a full-time missionary in the field. The MTC
taught me so much but it is so different then here. Another challenge for this
week was homesickness. I've never been away from home this long so finding ways
to cope was a challenge but I've grown so much already. I look forward to
talking to you more about it in interviews this week. What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Obedience. Even more so exact
Obedience. I am new and still learning all the parts of missionary work but
what I do know, I want to be exactly obedient with. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) No, they are a great
strength to me. Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) No,
thank you for your time President!

Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. One of the successes of this week was
feeling like i was getting somewhere with the languages. Still is hard and
still cant pick up a lot that is said but it is definitely expanding and i can
see my vocabulary becoming better another success was my homesickness was
better this week. I still felt it sometimes but overall was better this week. A
challenge this week was overcoming so many cancelled appointments abd feeling
like we found productive thungs to do when people cancelled. What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? The gi+ of charity is
something I want to be better about this week. Especially when it comes to my
comp and just showing him that I am trying my best by the service I render to
him. Even when that is secret service without recognition. I'll be better about
that this week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange
go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like
to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
Still working throug my homesickness president. It was much better this week
and it really helped to meet with you. Really gonna focus on just losing myself
this week!
October 31, 2022
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. One success this week was being part of
a couple different exchanges this week and being able to see missionary work in
other places in the island. A challenge this week was finding ways to be united
as a companionship. I know I am still so new, but I look forward to when we
work as more of a team and feel like I contribute to this area and
companionship.
7 What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Diligence. Especially when
it comes to language study. I know by being immersed in this language it will
come and I have to continue and try, especially when I sit through two hours of
church barely piecing together words and phrases. But I want to be better about
my language study this week. It usually takes a back seat, but if I expect the
gi+ of tongues in my missionary effort, I have to also put my best foot forward
in my studies. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Pederson and
Elder Hall in Saint Nic Elder Gonzales in Santa Cruz How did the exchange go?
They were great, I was able to see missionary work thrive in other areas. They
were great in including me in their lessons and teaching me as much as they
could. I was open about how our companionship needs work, especially with my
zone leader Elder Gonzales, I asked for ways to improve that, and he gave me
some great pointers. Is there anything happening at home or with your family
that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like
to share? (Optional) Our area is struggling right now. We really need to take
it to the Lord as a companionship, to decide if dropping a few people is
nescessary. This week we will try to make finding a big emphasis. Elder Lopez
and I are still working on being united. We both want this 'white' christmas,
and know it is possible for Noord, we just need to show our faith.
November 07, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A challenge this week was trying to find ways to interact with our friends when
so many lessons drop and they are so hard to get a hold of. A success this week
was putting a young man on date for baptism in December. He has a lot of work
to do, but its a goal he wants to reach. 8 What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Patience. It is hard to see the fruits from our
labour now, but I have to trust we are planting seeds and that as we do all we
can, the Lord will see our efforts. Who did you participate in exchanges with?
Elders Pederson and Stinson How did the exchange go? They were great. Learned a
lot from them, they do a good job of sharing the load, which is something I
really want to take back to my companionship. Is there anything happening at
home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) We have a
very close family friend going into a open heart surgery this week. She will be
in my thoughts and prayers. Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) Thank you so much president for your email to me and your counsel. I
needed it, and will really focus on what you said. There is light at the end of
the tunnel. It's hard but I know I can do it with the Lord guiding me along.
Thank you for all you do President! During the past month, how have you seen
the hand of the Lord in your work? We had a very special experience this week
in the home of a member who was struggling with their health. He asked us for a
priesthood blessing, and he asked for me to consecrate the oil and for Elder
Lopez to seal the anointing. It was very neat and the power of the spirit was
in that tiny kitchen in Aruba that night. It taught me again that the spirit
doesn't speak a language. I did part of the blessing in English while Elder
Lopez did some in Spanish. The spirit was constant no matter the language and
it touched everyone in the room.
9 November 14, 2022
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was finding a man
off a facebook referral and being able to teach him a powerful restoration
lesson and him wanting to meet with us weekly and read the book of mormon every
night. A challenge this week was feeling like we were using our time wisely
with so many dropped lessons and too much attention to a family next door that
are members and need recent convert lessons but it is a struggle to get them. I
feel like elder lopez makes a big deal to get those lessons which is good but
they always bail on us and it always leaves a gap in our night where I feel bad
we arent productive. Also we did service every morning this week and while it
is great and needs to be done, most days it takes over two hours and it just
pushes all of our studies back into the day and I feel like we lose a lot of
productive time. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? Patience. Especially while the work feels so slow, I can be patient and
know that my efforts are going towards something even when its hard to see. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) President
you wanted to keep us together, so I know there is more for me to learn from
this companionship. It is a struggle at times and I often feel like the spanish
barrier between us is used against me. Whether that is poor communication and
checking with eachother on the phone. Teaching in Lessons, and just interacting
with people. We are just at two different levels in the langauage. I know I
need this though. Its hard and we haven't figured it out yet, but I'll keep
trying because at the end of the day, God will never give me a trial he knows I
cant handle through Him. Thank you for the prayers president. I am praying for
you also. Have a great week.
10 November 21, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This week a success was our finding efforts. We had a lot of cancelled
appointments because of the rain, so we talked as a companionship, made a goal
of people to talk to, and went for it. We met a lot of new people, only one or
two for sure interested but, as we continue to find, we'll see more success
there. A challenge this week was making sure our time was being planned
efficiently. It's hard when lessons don't work out, and we need back up plans
and ways to be productive when those lessons fall through. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This isn't in the standards
but it is something you emailed me about and something I want to take pride in
this week. Being BOLD. My personality is more laid back and I can tend to just
be a push over especially when my companion is eager to hold the reigns. I need
to be bold and get out of my shell more. If thats communicating with my comp or
in any setting, I am going to focus this week on not being shy to take a step
into the unknown. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the
exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I really appreciated your training at the mission devotional on
Tuesday president. I know its for everyone, but I felt like it was tailored to
me and my companionship. Along with your email it helped me go into weekly
planning wanting to focus on a few things with my companion. Thank you for all
the counsel. I have also been studying preach my gospel chapter 9 and looking
for ways to bring it up with my companion. You are right, I have been here for
a transfer now, I know how things should look, I need to not be so passive with
how I feel, just because I am in this greenie phase. Thank you for the prayers,
I think this will be a good week for our area. Safe travels.
11 November 28, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week is we are starting to have new friends. I think we are
finally starting to get over the hump of only having friends that have been
around for awhile and don't want to progress, to now having new and older
friends who want to keep commitments. Another success is the language. It is
coming, I can feel it. Teaching lessons and just interacting with the people
has gotten easier, and in lessons I am starting to be able to say what I feel
and less of the one liners I have memorised. A challenge this week was getting
lessons with a lot of our friends. I am sure the rainy weather doesn't help,
but we also have quite a few friends who bail on us last minute and then we are
le+ figuring out what is most productive with our time. Another challenge is
still working on how to become one with my companion. It has gotten better, but
lessons could still be more united. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to show more gratitude this week! It is
Thanksgiving week a+er all! I just am so blessed, and see so many of God's
tender mercies everyday. I want to be better about stopping and appreciating
them. So this week I want to focus on gratitude, for everything I have been
given, and everything I get to be a part of. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Adams. In Noord. How did the exchange go? It was a great
day. Elder Adams is a very good missionary. I look up to him a lot. We had a
very productive day and it was the first exchange that I have been a part of
that I stayed in my Area. So leading the area was really good for me I think.
It was fun to work out the challenges that brought, but also helped me be
confident and BOLD. We saw so many miracles that day, and even found a family
that was taught
12 years ago who want us to come back. I learned how an exchange should start and end and got many helpful tips from Elder Adams. We discussed how I can be more impactful in my companionship and how to keep loving my companion, even as we struggle. It was nice to discuss how we could make these next three weeks the best for both our companionship's. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I look forward to Zone Conference and being able to meet with you President. I have been so grateful for your counsel for me each week. Safe travels. 12 December 05, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. One success this week was getting an inactive member who hasn't been to church for over 3 months, back to church. It has been a process with him, but he came and he enjoyed it, and wants to continue and come. Another success this week was being able to meet with many of our friends, and start making scheduled returned appointments. I guess a third success would be Zone Conference. I was definitely spiritually and physically fed so well, and gave me a much needed boost. A challenge this week was getting our friends to keep commitments. Some progress slowly, but we really need them to start keeping commitments. Another challenge this week was trying to find unity with my companion. In lessons, we just don't share the load like I wish we would. But also unity at home, and just showing love and trust. But we will continue to work on that. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be more diligent this week. Whether that be continually being there for our friends who are slow to change, or even with my studies. I want to go in with questions or ideas, and really dive all in and find answers. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I really enjoyed meeting with you this last week president. I look forward to those interviews. I will be prayerful about your counsel. I also really enjoyed zone conference and really learned some things I want to be better at applying. Safe Travels! During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? I would have to say within me. I am literally his mouthpiece. I have a basic understanding of the languages here, but sometimes I literally feel like he is putting spanish, papiamento, or English words in my mouth. Just trying so hard to be in tune with the spirit and watching the Lord work wonders has been very humbling. Another way I have seen the Lord's hand is within Noord. I feel like the area is starting to pick up and we are finding so many wonderful people here who are ready. The Lord is opening the way for this area.
December 12, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. One success this week was being a part of a really neat lesson where our friend was able to bare his testimony to his mother about why he wanted to be baptised (before she had said no to a baptism) but a+er the testimony he gave, she said ok. It was pretty amazing. He isn't on date quite yet because they are headed out of town here at the end of the year, but in January we hope to put him on date. Another success this week was being a part of a couple different exchanges and seeing missionary work in different ways with different people. We found miracles in both. A challenge this week was getting new friends we have found to get a scheduled return lesson. I get frustrated that it feels so last minute if it ever happens. We just need to keep pushing for our friends to make commitments. Another challenge this week was being unified as we taught. Some lessons are better than others, but I really want to share the load more. It'll help me learn much more too. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Perseverance. It is easy to start biking home at 7:30, but this week most of our little miracles happened a+er that. Just finishing the day strong and talking to as many people as I can, is something I want to focus on in this coming week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Restrepo Elder Adams How did the exchange go? They were both great exchanges and I learned so much from both of them. You can tell Elder Restrepo has just been a good missionary. You can tell he knows what he is doing, and the way he interacted with me, still learning and adjusting was really kind. We had a lesson in Papiamento that he could have given and done a really good job with, because that is his main language a+er all, but the way he shared the lesson even if my grammar wasn't 100% was really admirable. He has served a great mission. My exchange with Elder Adams was equally as refreshing. He is young like me, but I admire the way he is trying to step up in his role as Zone Leader. I had already been on an exchange once with him (not totally sure why we needed another, but the ZLs said we did) but this second time I learned a lot also. We talked about how this next transfer is going to look different and our goals for the district and zone. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) My grandmother suffered from a stroke this weekend. That really took a hit at me. She is in the hospital still, and each night I read over updates from my family. They don't know for sure what it might look like for her. She also tested positive for covid, so that adds in another variable, and wanting to keep her safe. So that has been on my mind and in everyone of my prayers. Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I look forward to finishing this transfer strong and getting excited for a new one as well. Thank you for all your prayers and all you do. Safe travels this week President!
December 19, 2022 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
One success this week was getting one of our friends to church with her two
daughters! It was great to see them there and we are excited to follow up with
them on how it went today! Another success this week was being able to attend
my first baptism on the mission. Even though I didn't teach him directly, I
have done service for him and it was a special expierence. A challenge this
week was finding ways to teach more united, and also getting secured lessons
with our friends. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? Love and kindness. I am about to get a new companion in Elder Hall. I
am so excited to just love and make the very best out of this companionship. I
really want to focus on all I do with love this week, and really make it
awesome right from the start. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How
did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family
that you would like to share? (Optional) My grandmother is home and recovering.
It is a huge blessing. She still has a long road ahead but we are all hopefully
it will be a full recovery. Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) Thank you for your email this last week to me President. It was
exactly what I needed. It was hard to trust and just stay focused on the work,
but it really has helped me feel better about what happened at home. As I wrap
up my training I am eager for the new challenges and opportunities. I really am
thankful for my greenie time. It has made me grow so much, and I am so excited
for the next steps and to be able to work in Noord and make the best of it.
Look forward to seeing you in Aruba this weekend! Safe travels.
December 26, 2022
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. It was a great week! We saw many
success this week, and were able to talk to a lot of new people. A success was
finding three new friends and reigniting a few grey dots in the area. A
challenge was finally sitting down and really figuring out our area book and
determining it needs a lot of improvement and organization. What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This week I want to really
focus on teaching with members. We will have a couple different opportunities
to do so, and one will be with a less active member. I really want to focus on
how that can benefit the member and the friend. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? How did the exchange go? 16 Is there anything happening at home
or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) My grandmother is
recovering. I thought it was super neat when you told us about your mothers
passing from a stroke at our christmas activity. Thank you for sharing that
experience with us. It gave me a lot of peace. Is there anything else you would
like to share? (Optional) We have both made the goal to really turn Noord
around this transfer. So excited to make the very most of it. Safe travels this
week!
January 02, 2023
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. This week a success was putting one of
our friends on date! It is for the end of January. He wants it but has a lot of
work to do in order to be ready. It will be an exciting process to get him
there. Another success this week was getting another friend to church this
week. We can tell she likes to be there and feels the spirit. A challenge this
week was figuring out how to be productive and get the most out of this holiday
weekend. We had a lot of lessons bail, but now that christmas is over,
missionary work should be back to normal. Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was being able to really clean up our area book. Another
success was making new friends and making goals for them. A challenge was
definitely working around the holidays and not getting frustrated with it. What
is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I think
Diligence this week. It was easy to get a little lazy this last weekend because
there wasnt a whole lot to do, but I just want to be diligent this week. I need
to reignite my fire, so Diligence is something I will strive for this week.
17 What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want to work on following spiritual promptings this week. There
are so many everyday, and I feel like sometimes I am just shrugging them off.
There are miracles out there that I want to be better about finding. Who did
you participate in exchanges with? Who did you participate in exchanges with?
Elder Olsen How did the exchange go? How did the exchange go? Elder Olsen is a
great missionary ! He is so bold and will talk to anybody. He helped me learn
to be more confident with myself. Is there anything happening at home or with
your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Excited for this new
year to come around! Hope your family is well! Merry Christmas President and
Happy New Year! Thanks for all you do! Is there anything else you would like to
share? (Optional) Thanks for all you do President. It was a great week and I am
growing so much. Lots of work here still to do. During the past month, how have
you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? I was able to be a part of Ronnies
baptism down in Saint Nic this last week and it was a very special experience.
Made me excited for my friends. I was able to teach Ronnie once on an exchange
and to see his light now is pretty special. Really is the best christmas gi+ we
could ask for.
18 January 09, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
We saw some miracles this week! Our friend Benjamin came to church! He is on
date for the 28th of the month and we are beyond excited for him. He committed
to obeying the Word of Wisdom. It isn't ideal for him to continue selling his
tobacco, but I believe in time, line upon line, he will become and do what God
needs him to whether that be selling the business or retiring. Another success
we saw this week was continuing to make new friends. One of the members who is
in our area who we are trying to reactivate has a sister who has started to
meet with us. Its pretty neat to have the inactive member teach his sister with
us. Also we have two other friends who we believe are close to being on date!
What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? With the new
key indicator being members in lessons, I want to work on that standard this
week. I am very new at having members in Lessons and I really want to find the
best way to have them help us in the lesson with the friend and with
strengthening their testimony. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder
Pedersen How did the exchange go? It was a good day, we talked to a lot of
people. Elder Pedersen is a great missionary who isn't shy to talk to anyone. I
learned I can be better about talking to everyone and staying out of my shell.
It was a great exchange. Is there anything happening at home or with your
family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) I had a great week President. It was just fun
to be a missionary last week! What did the trick was staying busy and finding
the joy/fun. Plus it made the week fly by too. I look forward to zone
conference in the coming weeks. Thanks for all you do for this mission! You and
sister Lamprecht are in my prayers!
January 16, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This was another great week! We put another one of our friends on date this
week. His name is Jason and we are so excited for him. Another success was
seeing three of our friends at church and our inactive friend john there as
well. Its so neat to see them all take the sacrament. What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about dilligence
this week when it comes to my language study. I do it but I am not getting out
what I want to. Im going to make a new plan this week and follow it. Who did
you participate in exchanges with? Elder Tafisi and Elder Adams How did the
exchange go? They were great. So fun to be able to work with other missionaries
and see different areas with different approaches. Elder Tafisi taught me a lot
and said I could be more confident and bold. Seems to be a recurring theme
haha. But I do feel like I am getting more confident. Elder Adams and I saw
some pretty amazing miracles during our exchange. Long story but a lady came to
us, and she became a new person and came to church the next day. Super neat. Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
Looking forward to meeting with you this week President! I have a few questions
that have to do with our area, but other than that I am doing great! Safe
travels this week President! Thanks for all you do.
January 23, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A big success of the week was being a part of zone comference. It is always
upli+ing and I learned so much. Id say a challenge this week was getting the
most out of missionary work the days we had because we lost all thursday, and
sunday with weekly planning. What is one area you can focus on this coming week
to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want to be better about the christlike attribute of faith. We
have a couple friends who are in the process of figuring out if baptism really
is for them. I keep doubting them and I need to just have the faith to keep
fighting for them. Also to have the faith if it just isnt in the cards for them
right now and trusting in the Lord. Itll be a big week, and I need to put forth
an eye of faith. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Strasdas How
did the exchange go? It was good. Fun to crack Elder Strasdus brain a part for
any tips and tricks to missionary work before he heads home. I learn a lot from
him, but what I loved the most was just his joy. He is always so happy and just
loves being a missionary, thats something I want to improve in myself. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Thanks so
much for our interview this week President. It was a huge help to me and a
confidence booster for sure. Ive already started to dive into Alma17-26 and am
finding so much that were the motivating factors behind the sons of mosiah.
Maybe Ill share more about it with you next week when I finish going through
it, but already Ive found what is a big part is love. Each of those
missionaries showed a huge amount of love. Love for the Lord, love for the people, love
for their brethren(my companion) and love for the area. Its all about love. I
hope you have a great week! Your in my prayers!
January 30, 2023
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was having all of
our recent converts at church this week! 4 of the 5 is one family who haven't
been to church for over a month. It was so good to see them there, and the
branch did such a good job loving them. I hope it reignited their faith and
desire to go to church. Another success this week has been getting over my
cold. It really through me off at the beginning of this week but I feel much
better now, and am so grateful. A challenge this week was finding time to be
out and about among the people. I am probably in the blame for the beginning of
the week, with my sickness we just took it slow and let me recover. Then later
in the week we had a few things that flipped up our days like a baptism down in
pos Chikito and a couple different activities and meetings in the branch. It
cause our studies to be done late in the day and less time to be out. But yesterday
we took two different meal appointments that couldve been moved. I feel bad
about that one, we don't get fed o+en and so I didn't see it as a huge deal at
the time, but looking back at the day it consumed any time we could have had to
have our lines in the water. I'll be better about that. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Charity! I've been studying
it recently and really want to have that be one of my focuses this transfer and
always really. Like faith, it is an action, and when we act in the pure love of
christ, that's how we find the most joys. Like we talked about in my interview
President, I want one of my motives to be charity! Who did you participate in
exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) I am excited to bring Elder Turley into
Noord! I don't know him well yet, but he seems like a great missionary. One
thing I do know is that we are similar in being a little on the toned down
side. We are both going to have to step up and be bold. I know the Lord needs
me to grow in leading out. I need to step up this transfer, and although it's
outside of my comfort zone, it'll be so good for me. Have a great week
President! You and your wife are in my prayers! During the past month, how have you seen the
hand of the Lord in your work? There are many things I can put here, but one
has been seeing the Lord's timing with our friend Benjamin who was supposed to
be baptized on Saturday. He has had a few different things that have caught him
up and he just wants more time, but learning to accept that and trust in the
Lord has been hard, but a blessing for sure. In this time of waiting with
Benjamin, we have been blessed to run into another friend who is eager and ready
to follow Christ. It is just very neat to see the Lord prepare The people he
needs prepared, exactly according to his time and plan.
February 06, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was the church attendance of our friends. We only had one
non-member friend there which wasn't what we had hope for but 3 of the new
members this week came, and we had 3 inactives that we've been working with
that came. Another success that happened this week was our finding efforts. We
are meeting lots of new people and we are both looking forward to some starting
lessons next week. A challenge this week was oir bikes. 3 days this week we had
bike problems which were frustrating and slowed us down, but they all could've
been worse. Another challenge this week was just figuring out how to work with
a new companion. It wasn't bad, but its just different. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I think patience is
something I'd really like to work on this week. I get myself all flustered with
bike problems and things that aren't the end of the world. It just stresses me
out and makes everything harder. I think finding patience in the trial as well.
Like long-suffering, waiting out the hard times in faith, patience and hope.
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? Is
there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Excited to make this
transfer great! One super quick thing that was a blessing to see in my language
was this sunday at church I was sitting next to our friend Mara and she is new
to Aruba from Columbia so she doesn’t know Papiamento so I translated the
papiamento testimonies into spanish for her. It was definitely tricky and I
didnt hit everything but it was super neat I could get the message of each
testimony off to our friend. The gi+ of tongues is so real and it was fun to be
able to see. Thanks for all you do President!

Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was our finding
efforts. We continue to find new friends that is helping us shuffle through our
teaching pool. A challenge this week was finding these new people but then most
of them being very uncommitted later. It makes the finding plan make a lot of
sense. We try to talk to everyone along the way and we find friends that way
but the only high quality(well everyone is high quality) but friends who are
invested are from those top two or three points on our finding plan. So
figuring out how to have all our lines in the water this week was tricky but we
are working on it! What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? I really want to be better about referrals this week. I have never been
very good about it and that is the most effect way to find. But I think it also
starts with building stronger relationships with the members so they want to
trust us with their friends. I am going to make a bigger effort with that this
week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? I was with Elder Nyfeler this
week i Noord. How did the exchange go? It was a great exchange. We had lots to
do and it was busy busy. Elder Nyfeler cracks me up and he is such a good
example. It was fun to get to interact with him again because its been since we
flew together to the mission. I learned that there is always something to be
joyous about, even the little things. He is very good at that. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? Is
there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Thank you for your
email to me this week president. It meant a lot to me. I know there is
something for us to find this transfer. I am excited to go find it! Thank you
for all the prayers and support! Safe travels!
February 20, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was seeing three our progressing friends at church which
was so fun. One of our friends who is on date came for the first time. It is
tricky with her because woth her work she can only come once a month. We have
told her about sacrifice and she has said she will talk to her boss about
getting a few more sundays off it ia just hard because that job is stability
for her. Another success this week was facebook! I friended someone this week,
I messaged them throughout the week, and we have an appointment set up at the
church this week for the first discussion! I have been trying to figure out how
to make facebook effective for a long time so it was exciting to see this
friend pop up. A challenge this week was it being carnival weekend. A lot of
our friends couldnt meet with us and tbe short days this weekend through us off
a bit. So we are happy this weekend has come and gone. What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Patience is something I want to be a
lot better at. Especially when it comes to my thoughts. I get so worked up
about friends sometimes or.even my companion. It is a christlike attribute I
want to develop this next week and study it. I could be so much more patient.
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Doing
well! We are still searching for the one this transfer in Noord. We had a
pretty neat miracle this last week with someone chasing us down on our bikes to
hear our message. They are out there for sure, just have to keep looking. Safe
travels this week! Thanks for everything you and sister Lamprecht do for us!
February 27, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week for me was the devotional on Wednesday. I needed it, and I
learned so much. A challenge this week was so many cancelled lessons. All of
our lessons with members fell through this week which really hurt us. I felt
like we made the most of the week, just a lot of lessons that didnt happen was
hard. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow
the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I think I
have wrote this one before but patience and positivity. I get so flustered when
we are sitting down with the member who is going to help us teach and our
friend doesn't show up or vice versa. I just am going to be better at rolling
with the punches and only worrying about what I can comtrol this week. Who did
you participate in exchanges with? I was on an exchange this week in Noord with
Elder Tafisi How did the exchange go? The day itself turned upside down on us
with three canceled lessons, but later in the day we did a finding activity
where we ran into a inactive member who came to us and really seemed engaged.
It was neat because when he saw my name tag he got really excited and said it
was an elder Miller who baptized him. Pretty neat experience even as simple as
that, being in the right place at the right time. I learned a lot from Elder
Tafisi though, he is a very good missionary and doing a great job as a DL. Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I
look forward to my interview with you President! Safe travels and thanks for
all the work you put into this mission! Praying for you and your wife. During the past month, how have you seen the
hand of the Lord in your work? This past month we have worked hard with one of
our friends named Mara.her situation was so hard and it always took every last
option to be able to meet with her. But.I have seen the hand of the Lord so
much in the way he has prepared here. We found a kind member to bring and take
her home from church every week this past month and she has a great connection
with the branch. About a week ago we had a lesson with her and she told us she
would be moving to a better living situation down in Pos Chiquito. Sad to lose
her, but the first thing she wants to do when she gets down there is get in
touch with the missionaries and go to church. It really has been so neat,
especially because she found us. Im hopefully she will be baptized in the month
of march.
March 06, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was putting our Friend Rubenita on date! Another success
was finding many new people to teach that were women, and that led to the
challenge of looking for members who can help us in lessons. Last week it was a
struggle to find help but this next week we should have more help. What is one
area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be very thorough
this week. I want to make sure every option ia explored for making lessons
work, and I want to make sure I dont take the easy way out. I want to be
thorough with my companion and just love instead of tolerate, and I want to
make sure he feels comfortable in this area. So I know that is not specifically
in standards but I hope it is ok if I add being thorough. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) It is crazy to me it
is the last week of the transfer. I am excited to see what we can make happen
this week here in Noord. Have a great week! Thanks again for all the help last
week!
March 13, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
It was a great last week to the transfer! We saw so many little miracles and
were able to see many recent converts and new members at church. We found three
new friends that I hope become solid investigators! A challenge this week was
kind of an interesting thing, we were at a lesson and explaining why the
ordinance of the sacrament wouldn't be administered this last sunday at zone
conference, because it would be our friends first time coming to church. It was
just hard to explain why we do it almost everyweek but this one. It makes sense
numbers wise and length of meeting I assume, but It was tricky explaining it. I
would love to hear how ypu might explain that? What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I think Patience will be a big one for
me this week. There is going to be so much new for me this week, and I can just
see myself getting flustered that I dont know what is going on. So patience in
taking it all in, and figuring out how to work best in Bonaire. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am so excited yo
work with Elder Pederson. He is a great missionary, and I am so ready to just
get lost in Bonaire and see how much we can accomplish! Thanks so much for your
talks at district conference. They were impactful. Have a great week!
March 20, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This week was a really good week! First week in Bonaire and I am learning so
much. Our days were full and we found many new people who we are excited about.
A success was really trying to connect with the branch this week, and I feel
like I did that. A challenge this week was our members at lessons. We had them
lined up the day of, and then they didn't follow through. We will work on that
next week for sure. 28 What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want Boldness to be a big thing for me this week. With the way
I teach our friends and with my companion and not just hitching a ride. It is
so important, and I want to make an emphasis on it this week. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am excited to get
more of a grip on this area this week! So much good is happening on this
island! We have a baptism this weekend of one of our friends. It will be so
neat. Thanks so much for your email president. I loved your thoughts on the
sacrament. Sometimes living by faith and trusting in our living day prophets is
all we need! Thanks for all you do! Have a great week!
March 27, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
It was a very good week! We found so many new friends that we are both excited
about. We were able to put two of our friends on date, and to top it all off we
had a super special baptism this weekend of our friend Mackenley. I was so
happy to be a part of that baptism. There was a special spirit there. Maybe one
challenge this week would be the languages. I am learning new things everyday
but at a spot where I am not progressing like I want to. I need to be patient
with it, but sometimes it gets me frustrated. What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This week I really want to be better about being
outgoing. Sometimes it is easy for me to just settle in on only me which sounds
so selfish as I am writing this. I want to be better about looking to help
others, or simply interact with others first, instead of in my own head space.
If that makes sense. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the
exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I am excited for this week! Zone conference, our interview, and
General Conference this weekend! Spiritual power house this week! Safe travels
president. Excited to see you both! Thanks for all you do! During the past
month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? Oh man, it's hard
to just pin point one. Mackenleys baptism this past week was so special to be a
part. Another experience this past week is really coming to mind though. We
went to visit a recent convert who has been really struggling since his
baptism. His mother has died, his wife le+ with the kids and he can't sleep.
Just a sad situation. While we were there he vented to us and we let him get
everything out. He was super emotional, and for awhile we didn't know what we
should do. Elder Pederesen and I both shared testimonies of Jesus Christ and
His sacrifice to swallow up this members pains and afflictions. He kept saying
how he was told if he was baptized all his problems would go away. It was so
hard to tell him that was wrong. We asked him if he would like a priesthood
blessing. He said yes and it was a super powerful experience. I remember the
spirit that flooded that dark and messy home. This was my second time meeting
this man, but during that blessing over and over again I felt God wanting him
to know how much he loved him. He wasn't able to come to church yesterday, but
he is doing a little better which is a blessing to see. Wo apparent that the
Lord is there for him even if he can't feel it.
April 03, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
Oh boy, what a week! A success thus week for sure was zone and general
conference! They were both spiritual powerhouses for me and I am excited to
study the training and talks more! A challenge this week for sure is the living
situation we did a lot of moving this weekend which I am grateful for but once
we were all moved over, the water and power were off because we didn't sign a
form and their office was closed on the weekend. So today hopefully it all gets
figured out. So we have been making the ridds living room work for the past
couple days. Another challenge is because of all the craziness, we haven't been
able to do missionary work really in our area for a week. So I am excited to
get back to the normal routine. What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? Patience is big for me this week. I need to just
wait out this adjusting time with faith and not let it fluster me. Patience in
all aspects too with my companion and our area. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Hall How did the exchange go? It was a nice exchange.
Definitely the shortest exchange I've ever been on because of our flight but
with the time we had it was nice. I continue to learn a lot from Elder Hall. He
is becoming a great leader and we were able to talk a lot about overcoming
pride for both of us. Is there anything happening at home or with your family
that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like
to share? (Optional) General Conference was a miracle for me President! In
almost every talk I could find some kind of reference making my prayers more
meaningful and building my covenantal relationship with my Heavenly Father and
Jesus Christ. So many things I can put into action. Thank you so much for your
council this week. It felt very personal and I am grateful for you President.
Also thank you for your email. We will make sure to teach our friend with your
council and those amazing quotes in mind. Thanks for all you do! Safe travels
this week!
April 10, 2023 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was finding two
different families who are ready to recieve the gospel. It was so neat at one
house the Father had all his kids come out and listen to our message. They've
been searching for the true church and we are excited to see them progress.
Another success this week was putting our friend Almonte on date for May. We
are still searching for our April baptism but fun to see another one for May. A
challenge this week was filtering through our friends. We are finding a lot of
people which means we have to be good at dropping and picking up. Sometimes it
is tricky to know but it keeps our area clean. What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to remember more this next week
and the rest of my mission that I have been set apart from the world. I really loved
your counsel for the elders in the mission this week. I realized that I am not
doing a good enough job standing up and being bold when things like that
happen. I want to be a better leader that way this week. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Happy Easter! Thanks
for all you do! Excited for another week! Safe travels!
April 17, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success tg8s week for sure was seeing our hatian family of friends at church
yesterday! We have only taught them twice but they came and it was so neat to
see one of the sons wearing one of the ties we gave them. It worries me a
little because the children just moved to Bonaire about two weeks ago from
Haiti and only know how to speak Creole. For our lessons we do a joint effort
with Florida Elders who speak Creole. But I hope church was still a nice thing
for them even if they can't understand. We are working on finding someone to
translate for them next week. I know Itll work put how it needs to but it's
hard because I know there are protestant churches all around (the mom went to
one before) that have a hatian preacher. But we will keep praying for them and
finding a way for them to grow at church bèst. What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I really want to focus on teaching
with members this week. We have been very mediokre with that this transfer and
I know SO many members who could benefict from coming and helping us. Just
going to put a bigger emphasis on it this week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? Is there anything else you would
like to share? (Optional) Thanks for all you do President. This last week the
Zone Leaders brought up how we should follow Safeguards better by staying in
the same room as your comp on pday when you call your family. I feel like
that's a way to interpreted the Safeguard but it doesn't make a lot of sense to
me. In Bonaire we have one phone so someone is in the Clark office on a
computer and the room is so small. It would be very chaotic i think and just
hard. We have been all staying in the tiny church but just different parts as
we communicate with family. The missionaries here are on the same page. Elder
Pedersen and I called the zls and told them our concerns. They said they were
communicate with the APs. But just wanted to let you know its on my mind.
Whatever you think is best, I will follow. Just wanted to know how you read it.
Thanks again! Have a great week!
April 24, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was our finding. We have really filtered through some
friends and are finding new people to teach. Another exciting success this last
week was one family of children we have been teaching had there parents in the
home fot the lesson and they sat down too! It was so neat, now we are teaching
the whole family! One more success from this last week, even though it is not
in my area, this week the Noord Elders called us and told me that two friends
who I had taught Rubenita (If I remember right, late last year you were at
church in Aruba and it was her first time coming) and Joanne (who is super neat
and now reactivating her inactive brother, are both getting baptized this week.
One of them was a miracle and read 3 Nephi 11 and knew she needed to be
baptized a+er awhile of not meeting with the Elders. I've tried to picture
those friends in white for a long time and I am so excited to zoom in to the
baptism this coming Saturday! What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? Listening- sorry these things aren't really in
standards but I was listening to a devotional by Elder Bednar this last week
and he made a comment about what I am doing while my companion is speaking. He
said part of having the spirit work through me in lessons is by listening
intently while my companion is speaking so I will know what needs to be said
next. I wouldn't say I am totally checked out while he is talking, but I want
to be better this week about being invested in what they say too. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? 33 Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Thanks so much for
your email back to me last week! I will be sure to follow your council on it.
These past couple of weeks we have these inactives in our area who are okay
with us coming back to their homes for more lessons and we did as Elder Nielsen
said to first teach the Restoration and let them feel the spirit and we have
done that. We have been back a few times a+er that and have tried to have
lessons about covenants and the sacrament but what do you think we should do.
Is it a good use of our time to continue going back if they haven't been back
to church yet? Should we be very straight up with them now and invite them back
to church or is there something else we should be doing or teaching? Thanks for
all you do President! Excited for this new transfer! Safe travels this week!
During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? I
have been much more specific in my prayers about families. We are teaching two
solid amazing families right now and it has been so neat to teach them. The
gospel is truly for families and I have seen that while I've taught them.
Everything in the gospel can be related back to families and they learn so much
better together. It is an answer to my prayers and the Lords hand is all over
it.
May 01, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this week was putting an emphasis on finding. We were able to find another
family this week! We are teaching three families and those lessons are always
so neat. It has strengthened my testimony of this gospel being the perfect fit
for everyone, but specifically families! We look forward to teaching them this
week! Another success was being able to watch the baptism of Joanne Quandus
this last saturday. She was a friend I had taught back in Noord Aruba and there
was such a special spirit. Definitely a 'hoorah for Israel' moment. A challenge
this week was finding a way to be out among the people. There were a few
national holiday celebrations we went to but had little success finding and
just odd things that changed the dynamic of our missionary work. We are excited
to get into a groove this next week. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about leadership this week. I am
excited to get some training from you this week and just really give this
district my very best. Sometimes I catch myself going through the motions or
following the crowd instead of stepping up or being the example. I am going to
be more conscious about it this week. 34 Who did you participate in exchanges
with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your
family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) Thanks for all you do President! I love the
time I have here in Bonaire and am so excited to see what is instore for this
next week! Hope you and your wife are well! Safe travels!
May 08, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this week was seeing our church building packed yesterday! The fullest since I
have been here and only four were touristy. Every seat was taken and we were
still expexting about 8 more friends to come who never came. I know it isn't
the best setup for the church to be jammed pack but the way us missionaries see
it is pretty fun. Another success this week was service. They aren't new people
quite yet but we served one man who we had met a week before, he came to church
this Sunday and we haven't even taught him yet, but then a couple we had met at
this service also expressed interest in learning more. A challenge this week
was finding. We have set a goal to talk to more people but also find through
members much better too. We have some potential friends though that we are
excited about. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? Teaching with members is something I want to be so much better at. In
my whole mission I have never once even called in a member to a lesson even for
a short testimony. There are just so many ways to include them and I have seen
the progresión of my friends who have had members at lessons. I am excited to
focus on that this week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the
exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) 35 Is there anything else you would like to
share? (Optional) Last night we were able to call in to Rubenita Youngs baptism
back in Noord. It was so special and the spirit was so strong. That conversion
story started back in my first few weeks in Noord when we decided to talk to a
man at his fence and Rubenita came around the corner. So neat. I am so grateful
to have been a part of it. She will be such a strength to that branch. Actually
I still remember one of our first lessons with her at the church and we had
asked brother Muers to come with us and a+er the first lesson he pulled me
aside and said, "Elder Miller she is going to be the next relief society
president". I need more of brother Muers faith. But really was a highlight
of my mission yesterday seeing that ordinance. Thanks for all you do President!
Have a great week!
May 15, 2023 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success of this last week was being a part
of the baptism of our little friend james! He was so happy and it was so neat.
Another success was seeing 6 of our friends at church this last week! We were
hoping for 8 but it ended up being okay because there were no more seats in the
building. A challenge this week I would say is finding still. We are trying to
put more of a focus on member finding and we havent been able to find too much
through it yet but we are going to meet with more members this week. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? My language
studies havent been as impactful as I would like them lately so I am
re-committing to them. I need to find ways to mix them up so they are more
exciting. Also want to study more in the Book of Mormon in the languages. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am
doing well! There are so many good people here on this island amd we are
starting to seem some hearts change! Hope you are well! Safe travels! Thanks
for all you do.
May 22, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A big
success this last week was the baptism of our little friend Kevin! It was just
super neat and a miracle really becuase a+er the ordinance his mom came and
found me and said how about a year ago kevin didnt want anything to do with the
church or getting baptized. We are so happy for him! Our finding also improved
this last week too! Through the members is still something we are working for
but we are so close with one member and his friend! A challenge this week was a
lot of canceled lessons. Always seems to be 10 minutes before too which is hard
but I need to be patient with it. What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? Diligence in having backup plans throughout the day.
Recently with quite a few canceled lessons we find ourselves scrambling to find
contacts to go to when it would be more effective to have a premade plan of who
to visit. I think that will help us a ton especially as we focus on the
members. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I
am doing great President! I am excited for zone conference this week and my
interview with you. Bonaire is growing and it is so neat to see and so grateful
to be a part of it! Thanks for all you do and safe travels to Aruba!
May 29, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. Zone
Conference was so good, and so needed! It got me so excited to come back here
to Bonaire and start working with the members here! Another success was all we
were able to accomplish this weekend a+er getting back. We saw a lot of good,
already started making progress with our members and saw a lot of our friends
start keeping commitments! A challenge this week was meeting with everyone we
wanted to with a short week because of travels but we are working with it and
have a full week ahead of us! 37 What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? Diligence I think. Last week of the transfer and I
want to give it everything I got. I love this island and the people/members
here and I really want to finish strong and get as many things set up as I can.
I don't know how much time I have le+ here in Bonaire, I hope more, but what
ever transfers bring I want to be super diligent and persistent this week. With
the members! Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Hall How did the
exchange go? It was so good! I love Elder Hall! He is a stud missionary and is
always motivating me to be better. I learned ways to make our companionship
studies more productive and times where I would love to pray like before
lessons and before Facebook time. Is there anything happening at home or with
your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) We are excited to have you and sister Lamprecht
here with us this weekend! A quick spiritual experience I had this weekend when
we got back to Bonaire that I know was prompted by what you had talked about at
Zone Conference... I was super pumped to dive right into member records and how
we can focus on the "big fish" Melchizedek priesthood men here and
the potential ones. I sat down behind a computer and sorted out the current
Elders, potential Elders and which were between ages 18-30 and as I was making
this list on this google docs sheet (and I am sure also because my comp was
playing 'How Firm a Foundation' on the computer next to me in the background)
but I was overcome by the spirit as I glanced up and down this list of men and
seeing how close we are to a stake in the islands. It was just a confirmation
to me of what we had discussed at conference and a powerful reminder that this
is exactly how the Lord needs us to go about missionary work in our mission.
Anyways, I wanted to share that with you because it really hit me. I am excited
to see it in action! Have a great week! Safe travels here! During the past
month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? This opportunity I
have had this transfer to be a District leader here in Bonaire has been a way I
have seen the Lord working on me. Although it has been a step or two outside my
comfort zone and o+en meant more things to have to be involved in, I truly have
learned so much. To lead by example and try to be a peacemaker by being a
leader people want to follow. I know the scale of it is so small here in
Bonaire but I really feel like I have grown a lot from it. It has taught me to
be more bold, to making a comment on something I would usually be much more
quiet about, and to look out and help others. It has definitely been a way I
have seen the Lord molding me into a better Elder Miller, and more of the
missionary He needs me to be.
June 05, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this week was working with the members! We had several lessons with members and
it is so easy to see the difference and quality of the lesson with a member
there. It is so true that the investigator opens up more and is more receptive
with someone else there with us. Another success was finally getting to teach
some potential friends this last week and making them actually friends. I am
excited to see what happens with them! A challenge this week was figuring out
how to best use our time when we had lessons fall through. I am still working
on how to best do that. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I think the Christlike attribute of patience will definitely need
to be a focus for me this next week. A new area, a new country, and companion.
Taking it one step at a time and one day at a time putting my trust in the Lord
is how I will make the best transition and not letting it all get to me too
quick. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) It
was so good to have you and your wife in Bonaire President Lamprecht! Also that
you were able to make it to a lesson with us. I'm sure you could tell how
special this Branch is. There are so many faithful saints here. If there was
anything you saw that I or the missionaries could have been better with, would
you let me know? I would love a few pointers. Thank you for making time for us!
I know you have one busy schedule. Excited for what Curacao will hold, and how
I can best make an impact there! Have a great week!
June12, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this week was the transition to Curacao! I am excited to be here. The members
are awesome and I'm excited to work with them! A challenge is whenever the
power goes out. It is so hot but we are making it work. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Humility. I have studied it
a lot lately in my personal study and it is a christ-like attribute I would
really like to be better about. I think it says a lot when someone is humble.
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Thanks
for your email president! It means a lot to me! I will definitely work on
asking questions at the beginning. That will help me a ton! I hope you have a
great week!
June 19, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A
challenge this week was sickness. I felt bad l, Elder Adams got pretty sick and
we couldn't meet with a lot of friends for a couple of days, but a success in a
way is he has recovered and the end of the week we were out and about much
more. I think two of.the biggest success this week was putting our friend
Osmaila on date for baptism this transfer and seeing another friend come to
church for the first time yesterday. So we are excited for the coming weeks! 40
What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This next
week I want to focus on love. I am not very good when it comes to giving
compliments and I just want our friends to know that I love them even though I
haven't been around too long yet. Who did you participate in exchanges with?
How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your
family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) Thanks for all you do President! I am doing
well and excited to get rolling on another week! Safe travels to you this week!
June 26, 2023 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success of this week was we were so busy!
The start of the week was slow but by the end our days were full with help from
the members too! Yesterday we were able to have 4 member present lessons with
our friends. If a couple lessons wouldn't of cancelled on the spot we could
have easily had 6. It really just showed me how doable getting member lessons
is and we are excited to hit our goal next week! Another success this last week
was finding! That has been a challenge for us since the beginning of the
transfer but this week it clicked! One last success was putting our friend
Franklin on date! We are excited for him! It is in August which is a ways out
but it was such a big step for him who struggles to commit. Now he has a goal
and direction! What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?
This one isn't from standards but I really want to focus on the principles in
the new Preach My Gospel. I am excited to dive into it in my studies this week!
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? 41 Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am
well! The work here is good! Blessed to be a part of it! Thanks for all you do
for this mission President! Safe travels to you this week! During the past
month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? With changing
islands this past month I have been so grateful for the Lord's hand in my life.
I have been here a short three weeks but already I have fallen in love with the
people here. My new friends, the members, it all gets me excited when I wake
up. I am so grateful to God for allowing me to see the people here like that
even when everything is still so new for me here in Curaçao. Even though it is
such a small portion of God's love for them, I am blessed to share some of it
and it brings me so much joy!
July 03, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this last week was being able to filter through our friends a bit and figure
out how to best help our friends who are on date. A challenge this week was
finding. We are trying to figure out how to go about it, and also how to best
use 6-8 time when we don't have lessons. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to work on being more optimistic when we are
out and about looking for these member homes. I quickly get frustrated with it
and I can be better about staying positive with it. Who did you participate in exchanges
with? Elder Miller How did the exchange go? It was a great exchange. Elder
Tafisi is a great missionary. You can tell how much he cares about the work,
and I think he has become a great leader. Is there anything happening at home
or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) 42 Is there
anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am looking forward to our
interview tomorrow President! Thanks for taking the time with each of us!
July 10, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. One
success this week was all that we learned in zone conference. We took it back
to our area to finish the week, and with three friends we were very bold with
them and told them our purpose and what we want to help them do. We were
bracing for some drop lessons but all three of them want baptism and so now we
can help them get it. An exciting success of last week aswell was receiving a
referral! She is a middle aged woman who needs a lot of help with service. We
have met her once and I received a strong impression that she would make a
great relief society President in the new branch. A challenge this week was wit
our friend on date osmaila. She wants to be baptized and was sad when we had to
move her date back a week but there is one hump she can't get over. The sabbath
being Sunday not Saturday. We've tried to teach her how it changed but she
doesn't understand. I know awhile back you gave a mission devotional on this
and it was a video explaining it. But that was a struggle this week. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? One thing I
really loved from zone conference was the safeguards training. I have not been
as diligent reading those as of late and I love how it is a part of PMG now.
Also I liked what Elder Packard said about how you can tell a difference with
missionaries who live those safeguards. I want to be one of those missionaries.
So that'll be a big focus for me this next week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Hall How did the exchange go? It was a great exchange.
Elder Hall is a great example to me of a dedicated missionary. We saw a lot of
good that day! Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) 43 Is there anything else you would like to
share? (Optional) Thanks for all you do! I really enjoyed my interview with
you. Thank you for all the insights and counsel. We will make sure to finish
strong this last week of the transfer!
July 17, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. One
success of this last week was working with the members and specifically the
leaders of the branch and making goals and a plan on how we will reach 10 for
2024. It's exciting and it was fun to get some of the leaders on board and
excited about it too. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I think just diligence and consistency when it comes to finding.
Always having contacts to go to, asking for family and friends in lessons, and
just talking to more people. I think a part of my missionary finding skills
dropped off a+er we switched to focus on members but there is so much finding
to be done in and around the members. I want to find this week! Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
This week I received scary news that my grandma got into a horrible car
accident. I think she will be okay and I hope it is a quick recovery. She has
been on my mind and in my prayers. Is there anything else you would like to
share? (Optional) I am excited for this coming transfer. Elder Nyfeler will be
fun to work with and he'll bring a lot to this branch. We are so close here in
Curaçao to that split. It will be a great goal to work towards this transfer.
Thanks also for your email to me President, we will definitely make sure she
has a testimony of the living day prophet before going forward. That's huge.
Thanks for everything.
July 24, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this last week was finding with members. This past weekend we went with a
member to show her where a house on her ministering list was and a+er she
showed us to a members home we didn't know. When we went we met a young RM with
a wife and baby who lives in Peru but in two months is planning on being in
Curaçao permanently. It was a miracle! He would make such a good branch
President for the new branch. He also has an Inactive uncle who has the
Melchizedek priesthood who he can reactivate. Such a huge miracle and we look
forward to having him in the branch soon! What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This transfer I really want to focus on the
Christlike attribute of Hope. I know it will help me be the missionary I want
to be. It will also help me find the joy in the days more. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) This last week I had
the opportunity to do my very first baptismal interview for a friend being
taught in Trinidad. It was super special. He was young, but the spirit was so
strong. I could feel the significance of priesthood keys like you talked about.
So grateful to have had that experience. Safe travels to you both as you start
zone conferences. Thanks for all you do!
July 31, 2023 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was seeing our friend
Franklin at church! He has been taught on and off for a long time and yesterday
was the first time he has come to church. He is preparing himself for baptism
and it was neat to see him start following through with commitments. Another
success this last week was putting a couple more friends on date for baptism.
They both want it, and it'll be great to have a goal to work towards with them
now. A challenge this week was working with our friend Osmaila. She had a
baptism date this coming week but she didn't pass the interview. She came to
church yesterday l, but this next week we really need to help her gain a strong
testimony of the Restoration. What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? Working with the members is something I know I can
be better at. There is no reason we shouldn't be having at least one member
present lesson a day. I am going to really focus on that this next week. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I look
forward to meeting with you this week President! Safe travels back to the
islands. During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your
work? As I have focused on the tender mercies of the Lord this last month and
not writing them off as just coincidences I have found a lot more joy in the
work. It helps me realize that we are being guided whether that be to do a
specific contact, or take a specific road. The Lord is mindful of me, my
companionship and the people here in this area. My testimony has strengthened
in knowing that if I listen close, the Holy Spirit will guide.
August 07, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was being able to hit all of our key indicators. We
had it on our mind all week and it felt so good to hit it last night. Another
success was seeing both of our friends on date for this transfer come to church
again this week. Another success was receiving so many referrals from Facebook
and them working out and helping us find new people to teach. What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus on
christ-like love and service this week. Especially as District leader. This
coming week for the Brievengat sisters is big. They are taking over the Saliña
area and a lot of unknowns. It'll be an adjustment but I want to be more aware
of them this week and still expect them to do great things but show an increase
of love at the same time. I just want to look out for them more this week. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I really
appreciate my interview with you last week. I needed it. In weekly planning
yesterday we sat down and really sought guidance as we made specific plans for
each of our friends on date. Like you said to do, we focused on what we needed
to do to see them baptized on that date, what they needed to do, and finally
what we needed the Lord to help us with and specific miracles related to each
person. There was a special spirit as we sought this revelation. I am excited
for the coming miracles as we put in the work on our end and help our friends
realize their part. Pretty neat. Have a good week!
August 14, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was finding through so many media referrals. It has been
such a blessing. Another success was getting the 10by2024 men distributed
amongst the District and getting lessons scheduled and contacting each of the
men we are assigned to. Also it was so neat to have a friend on date come to
church for the first time yesterday. It was a great Second hour for him learning
about temples in priesthood, and so many people reached out. Before he le+ he
shook my hand and said, "I will be back" with a big smile. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be
better at the effort I am putting in to find this next week. I have been kind
of on the back burners when it comes to finding opportunities with all these
Facebook referrals coming in, so I want to have more lines in the water with
finding this week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the
exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I am well. We are so close with a few of our friends and them being
baptized. Safe travels back to Curacao this week! Thanks for all you do!
August 21, 2023
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. This week we saw so much success in
finding. From referrals, go seeing friends get family involved. It's exciting
and makes our job to si+ easier. Another success was finding consistent ways to
keep members invovled in our week. A challenge is trying to help our friend
Osmaila to the baptism date. She is so close, but we are trying to find the
line of not pushing her too much and helping her reach her goal. 48 What is one
area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to recommit this
week to being more engaged with the companionships in this district throughout
the week. I can be better about checking up on goals and progress during the
week. I think it'll mean a lot to them if I am more aware of them in that way.
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Happy
Birthday President Lamprecht! I hope in some way you can find time to relax
today! I o+en thank my Heavenly Father for the blessing it is to have you as my
mission president. I am so grateful that I have had your leadership and counsel
throughout my mission so far. Thank you for everything you do for each of us. I
feel it specifically. Have a great week!
August 28, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was working with the members when we teach our
friends. It really has been so neat to see the change in our work this past
transfer as weade members present more important. Another success was seeing
our friend Anthony decide he wants to be baptized a+er he felt the Spirit in a
prayer. We are so excited for him. A challenge however this week was not having
the baptism of our friend Osmaila like we planned for. She has back peddled
lately but we need to Keep showing love and remind her of the spiritual
experiences she has had. She did come to church though which was great.
President Yuyes was there and he talked about the Sabbath day which was great
for her. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I
want to focus on being patient this week. I am going to a new area, new comp,
and just missionary work won't look exactly the same. I am going to try my best
to be patient through all the change as I get adjusted. 49 Who did you
participate in exchanges with? Elder Hall and Tafisi How did the exchange go?
Both the exchanges this week went very well. Elder Hall is a great leader. Then
later in the week with Elder Tafisi we saw alot of good in our area. He is a
great leader as well who is easy to follow. In both exchanges we talked a lot
about what happened this transfer and how our zone can improve next transfer.
Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I
am excited for whats next in Aruba. I have big hopes for what our district can
do. We are so young, but I really want to help setup a culture of hard work and
reaching goals. Something I need to be prayerful about for sure. Safe travels
to you this week! Thanks for all you do. During the past month, how have you
seen the hand of the Lord in your work? This time I've had in Curaçao has been
so neat. I have seen the hand of the Lord in the lives of my friends. Franklin
for example who has been taught on and of for a long time, who said church
isn't for him now walks to the bus stop every week to make it to church and
prepare for his baptism. Another friend Louis, I remember the first time Elder
Adams and I met him. Not that interested and thought we were only there for his
Inactive mom. But now he is literally changing the habits of his life to
prepare for baptism. Those are just a few but I have been so blessed to have
been here to watch them repent really. Its been a miracle.
September 04, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was getting here to the Santa Cruz area with Elder
Priebe! Another success was our finding efforts and going through the member
list. I would say a challenge we faces was the amount of lessons we had. Our
teaching pool is very small and we are teaching as many lessons as we would
like a day, but as we continue to stress finding, we will have more people to
teach. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?
Asking for referrals everywhere! That is one of our comp goals that I want to
get good at. In all situations. It will help us find too. 50 Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am excited for
Aruba. I get to work with a lot of great missionaries here. And the new Elders
bring some extra fire with them. Thankful for all you do for us. You and Sister
Lamprecht are in our prayers!
September 11, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this past week was being able to finish organizing our member list.
Another success was finding an inactive named Vivian who simply needed someone
to come to her home, tell her she is missed and love her to come back to
church. Crazy, that's all it took. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? One principle I want to focus on this coming week is
trusting in the way we should go about finding. It would be so easy to just
start knocking door to door and I am sure we could get some return appointments
that way, but trusting in the plan we have, by going to the members first and
having the faith to trust that we will find through them. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am looking forward
to Zone Conference this week. It'll be a good way to reset and see how we can
go about missionary work here in Santa Cruz a better way. Hope travels this
week go smooth for you. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
September 18, 2023
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. One of the successes this last week had
to be all of the conferences we got to be a part of. It was also a success that
our friends came to church and were impacted by all the speakers. What is one
area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be very aware
this week of the time we are out of the car. Just finding ways to keep our
lines in the water longer. Who did you participate in exchanges with? It was
super quick, but with Elder Jackson How did the exchange go? It was a really
neat exchange. I look up to Elder Jackson a lot. In that short time we had, we
were blessed with several miracles that we found by being where we needed to
be. I also learned some great ways to find better from him. Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I really appreciated
our interview President. I will continue to be prayerful about the packards car
situation and get a better feel for it this week on exchanges. Thanks for all
you do. Safe travels this week!
September 25, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was seeing a lot of member support. From super
thoughtful meals to giving friends rides to church and teaching with us. We are
blessed with some awesome members here in Aruba. A challenge I've seen and
something the whole district is working on is finding. I think a lot of it
comes down to being out and about with the people and opening our mouths as
much as we can, but we are still trying to improve. 52 What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better this coming week
when it comes to always expecting miracles. I noticed this last week that when
I was on exchanges in my area our finding improved and I think I just have a
different mindset on those days. So just learning and choosing everyday to
commit to miracles is something I want to improve on. Who did you participate
in exchanges with? Elder Larson and Elder Fewkes How did the exchange go? It
was a neat opportunity for me to do exchanges with these two new Elders last
week. First Elder Larson is a hard worker. You can tell he cares and he doesn't
shy away from anything. Elder Fewkes is also a great missionary. He will put
himself out there as well and he has a really kind heart. On both days I tried
to really push finding and talking to everyone. They were both great exchanges
and they both seem to be Adjusting well. Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) The double car situation we had talked
about in my interview has been on my mind and I've tried to be prayerful about
what Aruba needs and what would make the most sense for this district. It means
a lot to me that you want me involved in this decision... If the new building
is complete and up and running with new missionary areas, then to me it makes
sense to give the Packards car to the playa sisters who will then have a bigger
area and will be more spread out. On the other hand, if the new building or new
missionary areas are still pending when the Packards leave I think giving the
car to the Pos Chiquito Elders would make the most sense. They have a big area
as of now and the car could be very helpful. Whenever the building and their
new missionary area (mainly san Nicholas) are complete, I would think giving
the sisters the car with their expanded area would be ideal. Hopefully those
changes have happened by the time the Packards are out and if we (santa cruz
area) are moved further south, then a car on each end of the island would be
beneficial. I hope this helps you. Thanks a ton President. Have a great week!
During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work?
This last month I have seen the Lord's hand in the work by simple things.
Meeting who need to meet. Seeing friends progress who are ready to progress and
especially in the branch and how things are moving forward so much since I have
been back here in Aruba. It is easy to see the Lord is very aware of this
island.
October 02, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was ministering to less actives. It was a very easy
way in with conference this weekend to invite them to watch and it was neat to
see some who have not been to church for awhile come to watch general
conference. Another success is finding friends who stick. We have si+ed a lot
lately and it usually leaves us with our main core of friends but this last
week we found a couple who want to progress which is so neat. A challenge was
getting members involved in more of our lessons. This next week it will take
better planning on our end to hit that goal. What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I don't know if this necessarily fits in as a
principle, but maybe to our Go and Do theme, but this week I want to be better
about having backups for everything we do. No matter how well we plan,
throughout the day, one thing at least is bound to not go through and I want to
have a better plan of action when that happens. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Stinson How did the exchange go? It was a great exchange,
Elder Stinson is doing a good job. It seems like he is doing well with
training. I think it's neat how Elder Fewkes and him are farely different but
are making their companionship work. I told Elder Stinson this, but you can
tell Elder Fewkes looks up to him. I learned a lot from Elder Stinson, he's
been doing this for awhile and he just does it well. Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I don't think so,
besides feeling very blessed that each of my general conference questions were
answered. I look forward to diving back into those talks. Thanks for all you do
President. I mean it, thank you!
October 09, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was finding. It was such a blessing to find four new
families who seem interested in our message. We hope they will read in the Book
of Mormon and continue to meet with us regularly. Another success was finish
strong a great transfer. We saw so much good and so many miracles along the
way. Elder Priebe and I think that our area is now in a place where we can
start to contribute consistently to the mission monthly baptism goal. A
challenge has been with an increase in finding, staying ontop of everyone is
definitely more challenging. We are trying to stay organized and continue to
si+. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow
the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? Well, in
the standards, Interacting with Adults in a way. I want to be better about
members participating in our lessons. The last couple weeks I've seen this key
indicator dip and I just want to put more effort there because l believe a good
portion of that key indicator is based on the missionaries staying on top of
it. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Everett in santa cruz
aruba How did the exchange go? It was a good day. I was disappointed a few
lessons didn't work out, but we found great things to do, and one contact in
particular lead to us finding a family later this week. It was also great to
get to know Elder Everett. I had never worked with him closely and I admire the
way he goes about being a missionary. Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) This will be a good transfer. We are
excited for this new building to come along and we are going to be so sad to
lose the Packards. It'll all work out. Thanks for sharing about your dad. I
thought that was pretty neat. You are all in my prayers. Have a good week!
October 16, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
One of the biggest success' from this past week has to be putting our friends,
Mark and Victoria on date! It has been quite a process with them and we are so
excited that they have received a spiritual confirmation that baptism is for
them. I would say one of the hardest challenges was seeing friends si+
themselves. It is good that we are si+ing but sad that friends and families
turn it down. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? This week I want to put a bigger focus on my language study. I love
learning these languages but o+en get distracted in that hour study that
follows lunch. I think trying to do it out of the house helps me, so maybe we
can try to do that more this week. I just want to be more diligent in that
study. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I
don't think so. Thanks for all you do President. I am doing well, loving my time
here in Aruba. Safe travels to Trinidad!
October 23, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was being where we needed to be at certain moments
throughout the week where people came to us. The challenges of this week were
real as the family we put on date only a week ago decided to stop being taught.
That was so hard. And also another challenge is teaching friends who don't make
their gospel learning a higher priority in their life. 56 What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be much more bold
this coming week in the way I teach. I read a quote last week about how
significant this calling is and how it is a matter of eternal life. More o+en I
want to connect what we teach to the grand scheme in Heavenly Father's plan. I
just need to find a way to do that simply yet Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Larson in santa cruz area How did the exchange go? It was
a good day. We saw a lot of great contacts and lessons go through. Elder Larson
is a confident missionary, he testifies and teaches powerfully and boldly.
Something I want to be better at. But he is doing great, he wishes he could
speak more in the languages in his area, but I assured him that every other
area in the islands will give him great practice. But he is doing well and is
finding his stride with Elder Everett. Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) Just so you know, Mark, Victoria, and
Kyanu Werleman (and little daughter Chloe but weren't teaching her) is that
family I was writing about. They were the ones who came to District conference,
then general conference and so on. On Wednesday we gave Mark a baptismal
calendar and it was neat to see him get motivated about how to fit in the
remaining lessons before an interview in the coming weeks. Then we taught the
law of tithing to both Mark and Victoria. It was something completely new to
Mark and we could tell it was something they were going to need to pray about.
So we invited them to keep this law in their prayers. It was a good lesson
though that we made sure to have members at sharing their testimonies. Then the
following morning we received quite a few texts from Mark telling us he prayed
and recieved nothing and wanted to know if it was a mandatory thing. He said he
had a lot to think about with regards to his baptism. We got him to call us
later that day and really focused on the blessings of tithing and talked about
showing love to God by keeping His commandments. At the end he told us he told
us he was shocked this lesson came up so late and he expressed that if he
could, he would pay it, but he can't because he has to provide for his family.
He told us God wasn't responding to 95% of his prayers, and he just told us it
was too big of a leap of faith. I'm sorry that was a lot but I thought you might
like to know the situation. Pretty sad, but we are hoping they come around and
that they keep coming to English class. As a companionship we felt prepared and
felt like we followed the spirit, but I'm sure we could have done things
differently. But at the end of the day, it is up to him and if he believes God
will keep his promises. But that was the situation. I'm glad I'll have an
interview with you this week to talk more about it. Safe travels. Thanks for
taking the time to read all of this.
October 30, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this past week was finding. It is going to mean a lot of si+ing this
coming week. A challenge was the lack of attention wiith working with members
this past week. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? Working with the members for sure. There were some lessons that fell
through. There were some members who bailed on us, but I ran out of bounds. The
craziness of the beginning of the week was my excuse. So I am recommiting to it
being on the forefront of my mind this week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Turley in Santa Cruz Elder Stinson in Santa Cruz How did
the exchange go? They were both great exchanges! In the one with Elder Turley
we were able to have an Inactive youth come with us to teach our recent
converts and it was so neat. We focused on missionary work with him and by the
end he was telling us he wants to go on a mission! A more reserved teenager,
but really opened up and felt the joy of the work. He wants to go out with us
every week now! With Elder stinson we both worked on getting out of our shell
and talking to more people. I think he had a good week and some great exchanges
with the APs that'll help his companionship a ton. Is there anything happening
at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there
anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Something I want to tell you
that I wish I did differently this past weekend was we had a multi branch beach
clean-up service project and it went really well. But I wish I would have led
out more with my district because by the end shoes were off and having our feet
in the water felt okay. I know it wasn't the end of the world, and it didn't
get out of hand but we have a mission rule, no water, and I don't know how it
applies in a beach clean up project, but starting with myself, I could have
been better and led out more. I tried to bring it up in accountability calls
later but I wish I would have been better in the moment. So that's on me. But
thanks for reading all this President. Excited to be with you this coming week.
Safe travels. 58 During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord
in your work? Well in many ways two specifically, with that young man (Dallin)
who we worked with in that exchange who is so excited about missionary work
now. That'll have such a ripple effect. And also Anthony being baptized. It was
neat to see him commit, no matter his age, he wanted to be a part of the truth.
He'll be a blessing to the priesthood there in Curaçao.
November 06, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success was working closer with our branch leaders to figure out how we can
support them in the 10for24 goal. The san Nicholas branch has one towards the
goal (Ahli) and the Oranjestad branch has one (Yohanne Winterdal). Now we are
working on getting a list from the branch Presidency with 7 addition names that
missionaries can provide support with. Another Success was being blessed with a
family that seems super prepared for the gospel and will keep commitments. One
of our biggest challenge right now is being able to teach our friends more
consistently. With many of them we scrap to meet once a week with them. We need
to address that, and be more bold in setting expectations with that. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I appreciated
your thoughts this morning in your email on Elder Stevensons talk. That is an
area I want to improve in this coming week. O+en I over look letting the spirit
guide our decisions and want to be more intune there in the coming weeks. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Everett in Santa Cruz How did the
exchange go? It was a great exchange. I learn a lot from Elder Everett. He
teaches powerfully and understands the doctrine really well. I tried to share
how to be very genuine with the members and those we teach so we build trust there.
Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) 59 Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
I want to thank you again for our interview on Tuesday. I always look forward
to those and it really upli+ed me this past week. Thanks for all you do.
November 13, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week had to be getting further along with friends who
want to progress and meet more o+en. A challenge was finding ways to have
members present in lessons. It felt like lessons that dropped we had members
ready and then hard to get them there when we have spontaneous lessons. We can
do better. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?
Maybe not a principle, but I want to be enthusiastic about the work this next
week, and an example of it for our district. Some of the missionaries are
getting unmotivated and I just want to get them excited for the work and it
starts with my energy. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Tafisi
in Otrobanda Curaçao. How did the exchange go? It was a good exchange. In all
honesty, a lot of lessons fell through and a lot of it was scrambling but we
worked hard and I learned a lot from Elder Tafisi. I like the way he leads and
want to take it back to Aruba with me. Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) Aruba had an okay week. We definitely
took some blows, the biggest in losing the Packards but we will hold down the
Fort and look forward to a better finish to the transfer this coming week.
Thanks for all you do. Safe travels.
November 20, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this last week was seeing new friends start to progress and keep
commitments. Another huge success was a brand new finding effort by sending out
over 75 texts to old people found through Facebook. A challenge was getting
friends to church. We have a couple that we want to count on, but they just
don't make it happen. Hard to know what to do if they keep other commitments,
but we need to emphasize the importance of making that happen to them. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be
better about teaching more this coming week. A couple weeks ago we were solid
about having four lessons a day and lately that has slipped. I have found when
I am teaching a lot I am more happy. It also means we are fulfilling our
purpose more. So lots of lessons is what I want to strive for this week. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Fewkes in Santa Cruz How did the
exchange go? It was a good exchange, lots fell through but we made the best of
it. Elder Fewkes will be a great missionary out of training. I tried to share
the importance of remembering spiritual experiences. Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Looking forward to
this new transfer with Elder Neal. I haven't heard anything but good things
about him. We'll stay on top of finances but I am excited to get lost in the
work of our area with him and get friends to baptism. Have a good week.
November 27, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was getting settled here with a new transfer! Another
success was seeing our new friends start to keep commitments and progress! A
challenge was hitting our key indicators. We came up short but we look forward
to being better this next week. What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about talking to everyone. It is
so easy for me to ride in my comfort zone and assume I might offend someone. If
I want to baptize anyone I need to be willing to talk to anyone. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) We saw such a neat
miracle with an Inactive here named Leo Ponson. For over two years he has not
come to church and has been through many missionaries. I had yet to meet him
until this last weekend when we decided to follow a prompting to go visit him.
We didn't tell him he was missed and needed to come back, we simply got to know
him and asked for another time to meet. Later he asked us what time church
started and then Sunday morning came and he was there! It was pretty neat. He
reminds me very much of Baas Noij un Bonaire. Young Dutch man that is very
well-off and could be such a blessing to the branch here in Aruba. A new 10424
candidate for sure! Have a great week president. Safe travels.
December 04, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this last week was finding. We were able to meet some pretty
neat people and a majority of it was just because we were where we needed to be
at that time. A challenge of this last week was getting friends and even Recent
Converts to church. We decided we need to start bringing up the church
invitation more in lessons and stòp holding it back. So in that way we will
make extraordinary efforts with our friends. 62 What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to really focus on teaching by
the spirit this upcoming week. I think too o+en I keep chugging along in the
lessons trying to get to the next principle that I don't give time to the
spirit guiding our lesson. So I'm going to slow it all down this week in our
lessons. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
Look forward to Zone Conference and interviews this week! Travel safe!
December 11, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this past week was zone conference. It gave me great insights and a
new excitement for the work. We also found success last week working with new
friends who want to progress. A challenge was getting friends to church. We
were so close with a couple of them but then last minute it didn't work out.
What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be
better prepared for a companion exchange thus coming week. So that I have some
thoughts at the end of the day in our exchange review. Who did you participate
in exchanges with? Elder Adams in Santa Cruz area. How did the exchange go? It
went really well. Even though we had a 2½ hour intermission at the airport
waiting on immigration, we worked hard. He helped me get outside of my comfort
zone with talking to everyone. Worst case it is just awkward and we can move
on. 63 Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would
like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I really appreciate my interview with you the other day. I can be so
much better working with Members and I am excited to strive for that more. Then
next day at church we were able to get appointments set up with every active
member family in our area. Thank you for all the counsel. Hope your week goes well!
December 18, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this past week was seeing two of our friends make it to church! It
was neat and it has been awhile since we have gotten friends there. A bug part
of that was having friends come to the branch Christmas dinner during the week.
Also it was a blessing that members helped for transportation with one of them.
Another success was finding this week. We feel like we are applying what we
learned at zone conference and it is so true he is putting the right people in
our path when we are diligent in constantly finding. A challenge this past week
was getting members to participate in lessons. A good part of it is on us for
not planning ahead more. We have committed to being better about this next
week. However member work this week was great, I can write a little more about
that later. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I
want to be better about using Oír branch missionary coordination group chat. I
think that is one way we can involve the members a lot more with friends who
keep commitments. It would get members excited about them, know them better and
want to help more. I want to be good at using that chat this week. Something
new, and I want to see if it makes a difference. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Fewkes in Santa Cruz How did the exchange go? It was a
great exchange. We were able to teach a lot. A+er my interview with you and
refocusing on meeting with Members we were able to get scheduled many member
family lessons last week. A majority of them fell on the day of this exchange
and it went so well. It actually changed the vibe completely with one family
and our missionary efforts. I was glad Elder Fewkes was there to see it and he
wants to take it back to his area now as well. I learned from Elder Fewkes how
to talk to people and si+ by focusing on talking to 20-30 Yr old males. We met
some great men. 64 Is there anything happening at home or with your family that
you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to
share? (Optional) I don't think so. I can't believe Christmas is this next
week. I have really taken to heart what you said about your Christmas' on your
mission and want this years to be the same for me. Have a good week!
December 25, 2023 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This week was hard. I got really sick and it was frustrating as it slowed down
our work. A success would have to be getting our most progressing Friend to
church for the first time this past weekend. What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better when it comes to reading the
standards and Safeguards more o+en as a Companionship. We dont do it enough.
Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Merry
Christmas. I am excited to be feeling better and more engaged in the work this
next week to finish the Transfer. It'll be good. Thanks for all you do! During
the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? I think
one of the biggest ways for me has been Him guiding us to find not just new
people to teach but His elect that needed to be found. I think back to about
two months ago when everything in our area depended on the Werleman family to
now, it is pretty neat to see who the Lord had instore as we pressed forward.
January 01, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was being able to involve members in our work
much more. Another success was getting over the sickness had been bothering me.
A challenge, that I am sure everyone faced this past week was doing the work
around the holidays when people didn't want to meet. It'll be nice to avoid
that this next week. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? I want to be better about my morning routine. I do what I need to, but
the way I go about doing it is something I want to improve. I think you said
recently in a zone conference that the morning can make or break your day. Who
did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Hall in Noord How did the exchange
go? What a throwback, this same transfer last year we were together also so it
was a fun exchange. I learned how to attack my language study better from him.
He is a great missionary and I always learn a lot from him. Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I am looking forward
to this new transfer. It'll look different for this area. We are losing a lot
of friends and finding will be a big focus. But Elder Neal and I are pumped to
give it our best. Happy New year, thanks for everything you do for us.
January 08, 2024
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. If I am being completely honest with
you President, this last week was hard. Last minute we were told that Elder
Hall would be joining us all week and we would need to cover the Noord area as
well. So we were quite literally all over the map this past week. It was a
challenge having time to work in our area which feels completely foriegn to us
with the new boundry changes. Another challenge last week, or something that
was just hard for me was the handing over of a few different progressing
friends and families we have worked closely with these past few transfers due
to our area moving south. A success I saw was going to the new building with
the Savaneta branch yesterday. That new building is a blessing and I look
forward to getting to know the members in this branch. What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This next week I want to more closely
follow teaching friends who are progressing and letting go of those who will
not keep commitments. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the
exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I am ready for things to be back to normal this next week. Our area
needs a lot of love. It feels we are starting from scratch. I also look forward
to setting some transfer goals here these next couple days. That was some
pretty exciting news the other day about hitting 50. It has been a long time
coming. I still remember it getting introduced when I came out of training.
Wild. Happy for our mission. I want to contribute more to that 50. Have a good
week, thanks for all you do.
January 15, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was being able to spend a lot of time in our new
area and clean out some dots. Another success was being able to teach two
different strong families about the gospel. A challenge was mixing up how we
found. We started to become a one tricks pont with just talking ti everyone
activities but we corrected it in our weekly Planning Session on Thursday so we
don't get stuck in a routine anymore with finding. What is one area you can
focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This coming week I want to focus on
Finding the one and have my thoughts centered on the one. I appreciated your
mission email on that. I definitely get caught up in the numbers of it all and
it almost always leaves me feeling like I came up short. I think by looking for
the one, my joy will increase as a missionary. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) I look forward to zone conference and
meeting with you this coming week. Safe travels. Thanks
January 22, 2024
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success from this past week was
seeing a lot of the friends we invited to Elder Soares devotional go last
night. That included a family that was so close to baptism a few months ago. A
challenge this week was hitting some of our key indicator goals, but we are
excited to reset and hit them next week. 68 What is one area you can focus on
this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards
for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus on Preach my Gospel this next
week. I just recieved the paper copy from you so I can really dive in. I want
to find a good way to study it out this week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Well kind of, with Elder Turley. How did the exchange go? It
was pretty short but I learned from him how to contact our friends in a better
way. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would
like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) That Elder Soares devotional last night was pretty amazing. It'll be
a highlight of my mission. I loved that he focused everything around what the
Prophet has already taught us. I have over looked the 'think celestial'
mentality and I am excited to apply it to our teaching as well when we connect
our friends to the Book of Mormon and covenants. Pretty awesome. Thanks so much
for letting us have that experience. I'll always remember it!
January 29, 2024
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success from this past week was being
able to find new friends who are sticking. We met such a neat lady this last
weekend and she is already keeping commitments like reading the Book of Mormon
and coming to church. A challenge was working with friends that cancelled on us
a good amount. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? One principle I want to follow more closely is being better about all
the Safeguards for technology we have. I studied chapter 2 of PMG last week and
I can be better about applying all of them even when it isn't convenient. 69
Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Hall in Noord How did the
exchange go? It was a great exchange and we were able to be out among the
people and talk to a lot of new friends. Elder Hall is a stud and am grateful for
all the exchanges I have had with him. Is there anything happening at home or
with your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything
else you would like to share? (Optional) Looking forward to this next week.
Thanks for taking time to read this. Have a great week! During the past month,
how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? Oh man, my mind goes
straight to having Elder Soares here this past week. That was so neat. I think
I saw the Lord's hand in the way his Apostles care for the church and even the
small island of Aruba. You could tell in his eyes how much he cared for each
member. We were excited about how many of our friends could go aswell.
February 05, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
We had a good week. A challenge definitely though was meeting with friends. I
think a mix of people not keeping commitments but also the islands are having
Carnaval right now and that is playing a factor. Felt like so many cancelled
lessons this week, but it led to us finding more, but we weren't overly
successful in that category either. A success from the week was being able to
meet a few new people we are excited about and that a select few of our friends
are keeping commitments. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want to be better about using the Finding Plan this next week.
I typed about it above but I don't want to resort to the last 2 points of that
plan so fast when things fall through. Who did you participate in exchanges
with? How did the exchange go? 70 Is there anything happening at home or with
your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) Thats about it. Thanks for all you are doing
for us.
February 12, 2024
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success from this past week was being
able to really organize the member list for missionaries in this branch. Also
getting to sort through friends and meet with those who want to progress went
well. A challenge was finding and meeting with people due to Carnaval. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to
focus on seeing the upside in every situation this week. There will be a lot of
unknowns but I want to find the joy in it this week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Schiffman in Santa Cruz How did the exchange go? It went
well, he is great. I tried to share how important the one is to our Heavenly
Father. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would
like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I am officially into my last 6 months and I know it'll be the phase
of my mission I will remember the most. I am excited to start fresh and hard in
Guyana. Have a good week!
February 19, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this past week was making it to Guyana safely and another success was
seeing our friend Juan Francisco pass his baptismal interview. A challenge was
figuring out a new area but everyday I am learning more. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to really weekly
plan well this week to organize our friends and know who is keeping
commitments. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange
go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like
to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
The people here are amazing and I am excited to rub shoulders with them these
next few months. Thanks for all you are doing.
February 26, 2024
Please share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill
your missionary purpose this past week. A success this past week was the
baptism and confirmation of our friend Juan Francisco! He is a light and it is
so neat to see him so onboard when he can't really communicate with anyone in
the branch. So that was awesome. Another success was being able to find but
then also drop a lot of friends who weren't progressing and weighing down our
area book. A challenge was working with women. Seems to be a majority of our
friends here and it makes it hard on us. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about daily contacting this
week. I feel like that will be a really good weeder for the area to see those
who will keep in touch with us. 72 Who did you participate in exchanges with?
Elder Tafisi in Lousignan. How did the exchange go? It was a good day. It fell on
the 'mashamani' holiday which led to a lot of cancelled lessons but we still
taught a lot. I learned how to use scriptures more o+en in lessons. Elder
Tafisi is a great missionary and I always learn a lot from him. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Ready for
a new week. Now with Francisco baptized we have a lot of work to do so we can
put another friend on date for baptism in March. Thankful for all you are
doing. Have a nice week. During the past month, how have you seen the hand of
the Lord in your work? Well, there are many ways but specifically being able to
go to the temple last week. The Lord's hand was so visible. Miracle a+er
miracle and it has boosted me so much these past couple weeks. Especially with
being new to Guyana, and it feeling like a new mission, the temple has brought
me so much comfort. I know it is such a huge blessing because in this mission
missionaries just don't get that opportunity. It has strengthened my testimony
of the Lord's tender mercies in my life so much.
March 04, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success of this past week was making great progress with some of our
progressing friends and the commitments they are making, like meeting more o+en
and coming to church. Another success was working with the members in lessons
and also cleaning member records to help us find. A struggle was a good amount
of lessons cancelled and it was a challenge to know how to use our time best
accordingly. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?
One principle I would like to focus on this coming week is my morning routine,
and specifically my time to exercise. Being on a bike all day makes me
complacent in the mornings sometimes and I want to be better about doing a good
workout every morning. 73 Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder
Bartruff came to Triumph with Elder Gomez and I How did the exchange go? It was
actually an awesome day. Everything went through for the most part. Elder
Bartruff is a good missionary and I learn a lot from his humility. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) We had a
little scare at sacrament meeting yesterday. Our recent Convert Juan Francisco
who was baptized last week had a health problem and passed out during the
sacrament. We rushed out to the primary room and before taking him to the
nearest clinic, we gave him a priesthood blessing and scrambled to get him
help. We went to the clinic with him and other members to help translate. A
couple hours later he was recovering and it was a blessing it wasn't worse.
Doctors aren't sure what the cause is but members were awesome in helping him.
It was an intense morning but everything was okay at the end. We think it is a
mix of his old age, not eating enough and a long walk to church Sunday morning.
The members are working with him though. I was really impressed with how so
many jumped in to help. Have a great week President, safe travels.
March 11, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This past week a success we saw was being able to put 3 friends on date for
baptism. One in March and two in April! We are excited about it. Another
success was the attendance at our branch on Sunday. There were 92 people there
and it was great to see a good portion was less actives and Friends. Our recent
convert Juan Francisco brought about 10 family members on the walk to church. A
challenge from the week was a+er taking some time to organize member records we
went out to find them and were disappointed that Guyana villages are not as
organized as our list. It is a challenge to find lot numbers so we are going to
have to go about cleaning the member list in a different way. What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? One principle I want to be
better about is being home exactly when we need to be. There were a couple
occasions when it was just past 9 pm when we got home and it didn't sit well
with me. I want to be a better example and follow that standard with more
exactness. 74 Who did you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange
go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like
to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional)
I look forward to my interview with you this week and zone conference. Safe
travels to you!
March 18, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was being able to hit the goals we felt inspired
to set. We also learned much from Zone Conference. A challenge was meeting with
a few friends that are so close to baptism, just live busy lives and are hard
to meet with. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? I want to focus on teaching more simply in lessons. I think with
teaching in English it is easier for me to get excited and share more than is
needed sometimes. I just want to refine the way I teach this week. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Grateful for all you
are doing. Have a good week.
March 25, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was being able to hit the goals we set. Another
success was our friend Josefa (wife of Spanish new Convert) passed her
baptismal interview and we will be having a white Easter! I know I talked with
you about her in our interview. She doesn't speak very much Spanish and we made
sure to take it slow and we feel like she has the desire to be baptized and
follow God's commandments. We prepared her for the interview and Elder Tafisi
said it went well. A challenge was we were expected much more at church but a
few families and people didn't decide to make it happen. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This coming week I want to
work on my daily contacting with our friends. It has taken a slide lately and I
think we aren't on top of all our friends the best. Probably means we need to
si+ a little better too. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder
Christensen in Triumph How did the exchange go? He is a very good missionary.
Seasoned you can tell. I was impressed with how confident he is with people we
came across all day. I'm excited to get another transfer working around him. Is
there anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to
share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I
look forward to this transfer. I'm going to need to step up to the plate but I
am excited for it. Especially to finish an Elders training. I didn't know if I
would get to train on my mission so I am thankful and excited to get to work
with him. Thanks for all you are doing. Happy Phagwah! During the past month,
how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? Very specifically several
times this month we have seen miracles put in front of us. It has felt like God
placed us exactly where he needed us and we were able to testify to our friends
of Gods reality and compassion as they witnessed these miracles aswell.
April 01, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was a smooth baptism and confirmation for our
friend Josefa. It was a neat way to finish the month of march. Another success
was being able to get Elder Vásquez and start our new transfer together. A
challenge was working between both Triumph and Lusignan this week. I felt bad
Elder Christensen let us be in Triumph more but it was interesting and we made
it work trying to teach in both. What is one area you can focus on this coming
week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus on prayer this week. Especially when
something falls through and we have extra time on the road. I think it will set
a good example for Elder Vásquez and it will take stress off me and let us
regroup. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Well, kind of all week with
Elder Christensen. How did the exchange go? It was nice, we saw a lot of good
and we both looked forward to getting our new missionaries at the end of the
week. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you would
like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I look forward to my interview with you this week. The area is doing
well, and Elder Vásquez I think is happy. Training is helping me a lot. Its
going to help me grow. Thanks for all you are doing. Safe travels this week.
April 08, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from the week was finding through facebook referrals. We received
many this past week. Another success was general conference for us and for our
friends who decided to watch. A challenge was working with the members. It
wasn't as much of a focus as it needed to be. 77 What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? One principle I want to focus more on
this week is simplicity as I teach. If that means checking for understanding
more, or more questions or less words, I want to focus on it this week. Who did
you participate in exchanges with? How did the exchange go? Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I was grateful for
my interview with you this past week. Thanks for wanting to know how I feel
about things. Have a really good week.
April 15, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success from this past week was being taught a lot from zone conference. I am
excited to make member work a bigger part of what we do here in Triumph.
Another success was putting our friend kemel on date for baptism. He is a 20-30
yr old man who will be a blessing to the branch. Another success was we had a
missionary coordination for the first time in over 4 months. Much needed and it
was good to read through PMG with them. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about planning in advance to
work with members. We have taken a dip lately in including them in lessons and
I think a lot of it is preparedness. Who did you participate in exchanges with?
How did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your
family that you would like to share? (Optional) 78 Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) I look forward to this week. We will focus on
hitting our goals and put more thought into establishing our branch here on the
east coast. Safe travels.
April 22, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
A success this week was a great sacrament attendance. It helped that it was our
branch conference but then also we were happy to see a good number of our
friends there as well. Another success was working with the members and meeting
with them. It's going to be a process but it's going in the right direction. A
challenge this week was finding ways to meet with everyone we wanted to. We are
working on si+ing so we can have a balance of member and friend work. What is
one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to
focus on making my language studies count. When we find time to do it, it is
about 30 minutes and I have a hard time locking in. I really don't want to lose
the languages I have learned and so this week I am going to be creative and
more diligent about my language studies. Who did you participate in exchanges
with? Elder Hoogland in Triumph How did the exchange go? It went well. We saw a
lot of good. He is a good teacher and I learned a lot. Specifically about using
the scriptures more as I teach. Is there anything happening at home or with
your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) Last night I found out about the Emergency
transfer with the Lusignan Elders. I'm glad Elder Prias is going to be able to
get the help he needs. I am frustrated with myself for not being more aware of
him and the struggles. I had an idea, but I could've been better about reaching
out to them more. It's a lesson learned. I need to be better. Glad he will be
able to stay and receive what he needs. Safe travels to you and sister
Lamprecht. Excited to hear how that trip goes.
April 29, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or
challenges from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week.
This week a success was seeing friends make the effort to come to church.
Another success was getting on top of missionary coordination and branch
council with our branch. A challenge was finding. Something we want to stress
more this next week. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more
closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus
Christ? I want to be better about using my time at night more effectively. I
o+en let it slip by with nothing productive happening and I want to start
making better habits there. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder
Carlson in Triumph How did the exchange go? It was a good exchange. Got to know
him a little better and he seems excited with the new opportunities he will
have in Lusignan. I learned a lot from him that day. Is there anything
happening at home or with your family that you would like to share? (Optional)
Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Looking forward to
this last week of the transfer. We want to make a lot happen and I am going to
try my best to get lost in the work of the week. Thanks for all you are doing.
During the past month, how have you seen the hand of the Lord in your work? My
testimony of the Priesthood has grown so much this past month. I have been able
to witness nothing short of miracles because of it. It makes me want to be more
ready and worthy when the Lord calls.
May 06, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from the week was putting our friend Patrick on date for the 1st of June! I am.
Excited to hear how that goes. Another success was member work. We located some
inactives that seem promising. A challenge was our sacrament attendance. It is
so interesting to me how big of a factor the rain is for the people here. It
was pouring Sunday morning and so not many came. What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? This week I want to make sure we set
apart time to make transfer goals and plans so we can have a vision for our
transfer in San Nic. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder
Christensen in Triumph How did the exchange go? I am thankful I got to work
around him these last couple transfers. He is a great missionary and on our
exchange I was reminded that missionary work should be fun too. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Grateful
for the three months I was given in Guyana. I think you said it best in my
interview, "the full mission experience". Guyana is a different
beast, and I feel like I have become a better missionary because of it. I am
also thankful and excited to work back in the islands for the remainder of my
mission. Appreciate all you do for our mission. Have a great week!
May 13, 2024 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success from this past week has been
settling into my new area here in San Nicolas. Another success we had was
finding an unknown member who was baptized in Venezuela and is 30-40 years old
who would strengthen the branch a ton. A challenge we saw this week was working
with members in lessons and it also felt like a lot of lessons canceled. What
is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to
focus on finding this week. Like in your email in the doctrine and covenants
"much people". Besides one friend our teaching pool is struggling and
we really need to find and si+. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How
did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family
that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like
to share? (Optional) Thanks so much for doing that ecclesiastical endorsement
interview with me this past week. Have a good week!
May 20, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A
challenge this week was teaching lessons. It was a battle to get them scheduled
and many canceled. A success was working with members to find a new friend who
is family of a recent convert. Through talking to everyone we were able to come
across a member who moved from Holland 7 years ago but lost contact with the
church but has done baptisms in the temple in Holland! We are excited about
that. 82 What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I
want to really focus on my morning routine this coming week. I want to be
better about doing productive things, and having a solid exercise. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? Elder Tafisi in POS CHIQUITO How did the
exchange go? It was a really good exchange. Probably one of my better ones on
the mission. We shot for very high talking to and finding goals and we didn't
come home until we hit them. Grateful that I have been able to serve close to
Elder Tafisi on my mission. He is a great missionary and I have learned much
from him. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I don't think so, thanks for all you are doing. Safe travels to
Trinidad this week!
May 27, 2024 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success from the past week was finding and
feeling good about a few new friends in our area. Another success was our
friend Loes passing her baptismal interview! A challenge was many canceled
lessons and trying to make the most of our time. What is one area you can focus
on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary
Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus on being more humble
this week. Sometimes my pride gets the best of me. In little ways I want to
work on it this week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Neal in
San Nicolaas 83 How did the exchange go? It went really well. We were able to
do a lot of good and talk about what our goals are. I have a lot of respect for
Elder Neal and am grateful for the time I've had to serve with him. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I was
super happy to see my friend Kemel in Guyana get baptized this past weekend. It
was a highlight of my week! During the past month, how have you seen the hand
of the Lord in your work? I would have to say in coming back to the islands and
focusing on seeing his hand despite a lot of rejection. Guyana helped me get
out of my comfort zone and it has been hard to find people willing to listen.
As we have been patient with it, the Lord has provided some neat people for us
to teach.
June 03, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from the past week was the baptism of our friend Loes! We are so excited for
her and the step she has taken. A challenge, and much more so now will be
working with friends that keep commitments. We will need to find and si+ a lot.
What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the
principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to
focus more in on including members as we teach. It'll be hard with teaching new
friends, but I want to put an emphasis on it. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Schiffman in Noord How did the exchange go? It went
really well. We saw a lot of good and since the last time I exchanged with him
in his training to now, he has grown a lot and is a solid missionary. It was a
good day. 84 Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) Looking forward to my interview tomorrow with you and zone
conference. Thanks for always reading these.
June 10, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from the week was seeing a couple friends we've been working with make church
happen yesterday. A challenge was finding. It sometimes feels like we
are.finding people but no one sticks or keeps commitments. What is one area you
can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to be better about
my scripture study this week. I've caught myself starting to slip back into
just reading to read and not getting so much out of it. I want to study my
scriptures this week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Priebe
in Noord. How did the exchange go? It was a good exchange. We got a lot done
and he taught me a lot. His diligence motivates me to be better. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) Grateful
for my interview with you President. Learned so much from you and Sister
Lamprecht. Have a great week.
June 17, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
this week was seeing our friend teaching pool full up with some neat people we
are excited about. We received these elect referrals that moved from colombia
and are very close to baptism. A challenge was working with the members and
figuring out how to get them to lessons. What is one area you can focus on this
coming week to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for
Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus on following the promptings of the
spirit. Especially having a new companion to the area and needing to know where
to go. I want to make sure I leave room for the spirit. Who did you participate
in exchanges with? Elder Turley in Pos chiquito. How did the exchange go? It
was good, I learned that even people not at their home but walking on the
street are good to talk to and can potentially keep commitments. Is there
anything happening at home or with your family that you would like to share?
(Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share? (Optional) I can't
quite wrap my head around it being my final transfer as a missionary. I really
want to just soak in what time I have le+. Hope you have a good week President.
June 24, 2024 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success this week was being able to meet
frequently with our friend Nayla who is so close to baptism. She was the one we
asked you about teaching with her grandmother. Another success was finally
getting in contact with an awesome referral David who is almost ready for
baptism as well and is just waiting on wife to move here from Colombia. He came
to church as well. A challenge this week was finding. Not sure why it was so
brutal. We had a good week and we tried to keep lines in the water with finding
but it didn't come through. We will focus on it next week. 86 What is one area
you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow the principles in
Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to focus in on daily
contacting this week. I just want to stay up to date on the commitments of our
friends and checking in on them. Who did you participate in exchanges with? How
did the exchange go? Is there anything happening at home or with your family
that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like
to share? (Optional) President Lamprecht, thank you. Can't really explain in
this text box the impact you have had on me. You are one of my biggest role
models and the exact mission president I needed. Thank you for trusting me and
providing so many unique experiences for me. I hope to stay in contact with
you. Hurrah for Israel! During the past month, how have you seen the hand of
the Lord in your work? About a week ago our area was looking pretty dry. A+er
our last baptism we had an open book and lots of work to be done. Over the past
couple weeks I have been able to see God place miracle people in front of us to
baptize. It is especially a tender mercy to me in my last transfer.
July 01, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from our week was putting our friend Nayla on date for baptism here at the end
of the month. A challenge this week was figuring out how to best use our time
when lessons canceled on us. What is one area you can focus on this coming week
to more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want to focus on finding the one each day. I just want to live
in the moment each day and see how we can best impact the one. Who did you
participate in exchanges with? Elder Turley in Pos Chiquito 87 How did the
exchange go? It was a good exchange. We saw a lot of good. Elder Turley always
impresses me with the way he is so confident and comfortable in talking to
everyone. Is there anything happening at home or with your family that you
would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you would like to share?
(Optional) I look forward to meeting you in-person here soon. I hope this first
week went really well for both you and sister Van Gils. Thanks for all you are
doing for our mission.
July 08, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from the past week was finding new friends to teach. Another success was seeing
our friend Nayla commit to commandments as she gets closer to her baptism. A
challenge was an open house for our new branch building that didn't stay too
busy. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely follow
the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ? I want to
focus on things I can control this week and let go what I can't. I really want
to soak in what time I have as a missionary and be in the moment this coming
week. Who did you participate in exchanges with? Elder Everett in Pos Chiquito
How did the exchange go? It went well, we taught a lot and I am always
impressed on how well Elder Everett teaches the gospel. It was a nice exchange.

July 15, 2024 Please
share a few successes and/or challenges from your efforts to fulfill your
missionary purpose this past week. A success from this past week was filtering
through our area book friends and moving forward with those who keep
commitments. A challenge was working with members however. We can be better on
our end and plan ahead. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to
more closely follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of
Jesus Christ? I want to focus on getting members to lessons with us. I just
want to be more aware of it this coming week. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Larson in San Nicolaas. How did the exchange go? It was a
good day. We had four missionaries working two exchanges in our area which made
it tough, but we made the most of it. Elder Larson is a stud and will be a
great zone leader for this zone. Is there anything happening at home or with
your family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) Thanks for all you are doing. Look forward to
zone conference and my interview with you this week.
July 22, 2024 Please share a few successes and/or challenges
from your efforts to fulfill your missionary purpose this past week. A success
from this past week was being able to hit our key indicator goals. Another
success was our friend Nayla passing her baptismal interview. We are so excited
for her baptism thus weekend. A challenge this past week was having many
canceled lessons and trying to make the most of our time when it frees up our
schedule. What is one area you can focus on this coming week to more closely
follow the principles in Missionary Standards for Disciples of Jesus Christ?
For my final week as a missionary I want to focus all week on thinking
"what would Jesus do?" In every moment. Whether that be in a lesson,
finding new people to teach or just having an eternal view here at the end of
my mission. I want to soak up every last minute. Who did you participate in
exchanges with? Elder Priebe in Noord Aruba. How did the exchange go? It was a
great exchange. We saw many miracles. I am always impressed with how outgoing
Elder Priebe is in public. He is also a great leader. I learn much from him
every time we are together. Is there anything happening at home or with your
family that you would like to share? (Optional) Is there anything else you
would like to share? (Optional) I'm in for a roller-coaster of emotions and
feelings this week. Not quite sure how I feel about it all. I look forward to
meeting with you in Guyana here in just over a week. Thanks for all you are
doing for us. 90
