♦ Elder Miller week 4 (9-14-22)
Wow, it is already P-day! This week has flown by! I think I am finally starting to settle in and get into the groove. It has been another great week and I have loved being down here in Provo. Crazy to think I only have two more weeks in the country! Man I don't even remember half the stuff that happened this week.
Spanish is coming! I say that every week but it really is. Everyday I understand a tad bit more and am starting to be able to speak more fluidly how I want. This coming week my companion and I will actually be having a Spanish lesson with a guy named Cristobal. I'll let you know how it goes. But seriously, it has been so cool learning this language, and getting more comfortable using it.
A game we play in class is called Nativo where one missionary out of the group can only speak Spanish and at the end of class the teacher guesses who the Nativo is. Keeps it interesting and is good to make us only use Spanish. At the end of this week I will be entering the SYL (speak your language) portion of my MTC experience. For the last week I am here, I do a fast from my native language, and can only speak in Spanish! So I am going to enjoy my last few days speaking English.
On a kinda lame note the missionary choir that I have been a part of is singing in General Conference which is SO LEGIT! But I will miss going by one week, because I will have just left the MTC. I'm bummed I'll miss it, but it will be so cool to have General Conference in the field. So lately for the choir practices we have been rehearsing songs for them to sing at conference. It'll be so awesome and I'll be able to sing along wherever I am watching it.
One of the Highlights of the week for sure was seeing my cousins Oakley and Preston. They are both studs and teachers at the MTC and it was so fun getting to catch up with them. They caught me up on that wild BYU game! That is so sweet they pulled it off! I was on my way to class at 6 and could hear the pregame noise then, but probably late, when I was asleep, was when it got crazy. I did go to one of the rooftops of a building and got a pretty sweet view of the stadium. I need the cougs to keep winning so they look good when my Broncos come to town and put the hammer down!!
The exercise trend this week would definitely be volleyball. We played sooo much volleyball. Sand and on a court. My awesome companion Elder Eggleston didn't want us to keep score to keep it light, which was probably a good idea, but you should ask him who won because he wishes he would of been on my team;p It was a ton of fun and was a nice way to mix things up for sure.
Had to say goodbye to a really cool English District this week. 26-M. There were some really cool elders in that district and they will be missed, but they will do so great in the field. Tonight actually we are getting 29 elders in our zone, and so our building is about to turn into a party.
My favorite spiritual thought of the week is from a talk given by Elder Teixiera of the seventy presidency. His whole message was about the joy of the Gospel and of what good news it really is. Jesucristo is at the center of that, and he brings everlasting happiness. So be HAPPY. We are all so blessed with so many things in and out of the Gospel.
Thank you for all the emails, they mean a ton to me! You are all in my prayers!
