♦Elder Miller week 24 (1-30-23)
Hope everyone is great! This week was a lot of ups and downs for me, but I am doing great and getting excited for some changes around here!
New transfer this week! I will be staying in Noord, Aruba for another transfer but am getting a new companion. His name is Elder Turley, and he just finished his training in Curaçao. So we are both young trying to figure this out. I’m so stoked though and pumped to make some crazy goals with him! He flies in tomorrow and can't wait to get rolling!
The beginning of this week was tough. I caught a brutal cold and it knocked me down a little but I am pretty much over it now which is a blessing. Made me miss my mom for sure.
I tried some crazy foods this week. We went to a member’s home for a Sunday lunch and she came out with this seafood fried rice. It was good- but interesting because you could tell it was super fresh seafood because every other bite you'd bite down on some sand. But it was interesting, an assortment of clam, shrimp, octopus and a bunch of other muscle things I have no idea what they were.
Also got to be a part of another beach baptism for our zone which was way special. A little 9 year old girl who was just smiling the whole time. So sweet and fun to get to be there.
Other than that, not much besides playing some dominoes with a few different members and a service project full of paint!
One quick thought from the scriptures this week! Loved this verse in chapter 24 of Mosiah in the Book of Mormon...
14 And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions.
Never feel like you are going through something alone. His son Jesus Christ has descended below it all to walk with us back to our Father. Trust that He only gives you what He knows you can overcome.
Well, I hope this next week rocks for you all! February! That’s crazy l! Thanks for all you do for me! Make it a good week!
-Elder Miller
