♦ Elder Miller week 45 (6-26-23)
Bon tardi!
How is everyone? Hope the week was good! I had a pretty sweet week that went by pretty quick!
It is mango season here in Curaçao! Some of the biggest trees I have ever seen in my life are mango trees. And I came to this island at the perfect time for lots of mangos. They are pretty good and all sorts of different kinds and if you are lucky you get one with not too many strings which is always nice. I always bring around some floss just in case though. And you always gotta be watching what trees you are walking under. But I would rather take a mango to the dome then a coconut. Haha
Some big news this last week was hearing that the new edition of Preach My Gospel came out! (A missionary book to help us teach more like Jesus Christ) so that has been way cool to study up!
I also got my first care package of the mission this last week! My family put it together for me and it was so fun to get some things from them. Shipping out to the island is just a nightmare so it passed through many travelers hands to get to me but happy to get some things from home!
Other than that, I keep meeting a lot of really neat people here. Our friend Franklin chose a date for his baptism here in the coming months so we are way pumped for him!
A quick verse from the Book of Mormon that I loved in my studies this week...
2 Nephi 2:24
But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things.
Does that bring comfort to you? I know it does to me! Knowing that we have a Heavenly Father who is so aware of us and is working all things together for our good brings so much peace. Trust where he has put you, and know it is for a reason!
Have a dushi (means sweet in papiamento) week! Thanks so much for your prayers for me. I feel them!
