♦ Elder Miller week 49 7/24/23

Bon Dia, Bon Siman!

Hope you are all well! It was a good week, saw a lot of good and got a new companion!
His name is Elder Nyfeler. He actually flew out to the mission with me so it's been fun to reunite. We are excited to see what we can do for the area this transfer as we work towards splitting the branch!
A few different members fed us this week which was so kind. It's always fun seeing what different kinds of food I'll try with all the different cultures here. This week it was some Jamaican, Surinamese, and Curaçao food which was fun. The members are the best!
We found a family this week! They are going back to Peru where they live here pretty soon, but in 2 months they will move back here! It's such a miracle. He is a returned missionary with his wife and young baby. We are excited to add them to the branch soon!
I was reading in the Book of Mormon this week and wanted to share a verse I love with you...2 Nephi 2523 For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do
There are a lot of great things to pull from this verse but what stood out to me was the last line. Grace, or the enabling power of Jesus Christ is how we put off our 'natural man' and live in, not of this world. To utilize the Savior's grace we have to act! I know that everyday His power can bless our lives if we turn to Him and are worthy of it!
Lots of love from Curaçao! Thanks for the emails! They mean a lot to me!-Elder Miller
