♦ Elder Miller week 61 (10-16-23)
Bon tardi!
How is everyone? My week went really well! I hope yours did too!
One of the highlights of the week was seeing the family we are teaching select a date for baptism after they felt prompted to a certain date. It was so neat and we are so excited to help them work towards that goal! They've come such a far way!
The older latino ladies in the branch now know me as the 'maestro de las arepas' (basically the master of arepas) cause we had a sweet Sister in the branch give all us missionaries a class on how to make these fried corn sandwiches. They are way good and apparently she thought I was a natural hence the nickname. Pretty funny.
As I was reading in the Book of Mormon this last week, one verse really popped out at me that I wanted to share with you...
Mosiah 15:18
18 And behold, I say unto you, this is not all. For O how beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that is the founder of peace, yea, even the Lord, who has redeemed his people; yea, him who has granted salvation unto his people;
If this verse touches you as it does for me, it brings a sense of calmness to my life. When life gets crazy, as it surely does, where do you turn for real peace? What does turning to Him look like for you? I know that our Savior, Jesus Christ is the answer to any and every longing of our souls. Turn to Him and find rest!
Keep smiling! If it is cooling down where you are, I am jealous! Have a great week!
