♦Elder Miller week 74 (1/15/24)

Bon Dia tur hende. Kiko ta kiko rumanan?

This week was all over the place and we saw so much good. Hope the new year has been going well for all of you. Sounds like back in Idaho there is a ton of snow. I couldn't be more polar opposite here in Aruba, but I'd like to say I am used to it by now...

My comp and I are flying around our new area trying to talk to a lot of people and met some neat folks who are excited about the gospel. We also got some bike time while our car was in the shop, so that was a fun mix up.

I think this week marks the most people I've gotten to teach in one lesson. (If you don't count the radio show in Bonaire). We were tracting a street of apartments one evening as it was starting to get dark and we walked past a big group of young adults and teens hanging out by their cars. (About 15 people) There was no way they weren't going to call us out and make a joke or two as we passed by. Once we started speaking with them in papiamento they took us a little more serious and wanted us to give them the 'good word' before we left. So even though it wasn't the most spiritual environment we taught simple truths about God's plan for each of them. So if nothing else, a little respect in the hood that night. But they were all young and I am sure at least one of them will come across the gospel again. Felt like a missionary in Book of Mormon times teaching to a crowd.

The members in the ABC islands just got some pretty exciting news that this coming weekend Elder Soares of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will be coming to Aruba and Bonaire to rededicate the islands to missionary work. So excited for these members (its been over 23 years since an apostle has come to Aruba) and excited to learn from him. It'll be a highlight of my mission for sure. Big blessing.

A quick scripture that I think you'll like....
2 Nephi 32
3 Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.

I hope you are all enjoying the new Come Follow Me study for this year in The Book of Mormon. I know it is the words of Christ because it is changing lives out here (and across the world).

Hope all goes well this week!
-Elder Miller
