♦ Elder Miller week 84 (3/25/24)

 nobo!

Hey everyone, another week in the books. It was the final week of the transfer and it was impactful!

I can officially say I have tried duck curry with dhal puri! A typical indian/guyanese dish that was not what I expected but not terrible either. A blessing too that it gave me no pork problems.

With the new transfer this week I have to wait until the weekend to receive my new companion who is coming in from his home country... not exactly sure who or where that is yet but I am pumped to get to work with him.

Monday Guyana celebrated Phagwag! It is kinda like 'Holi' in India with all the colors. It was pretty fun to play with the members and be a part of their culture. It meant good food too, they make a special dish called 'seven curry', and you eat it out of a lilly pad with your fingers. I'll add some pictures!

In the Book of Mormon this past week I read a verse that really stood out...
2 Nephi 32:9
9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul.

I have come to find out on my mission just how huge prayer is. If prayer as taught here in the Book of Mormon is so critical, it can't be going through the motions before bed and in the morning. We need to have a 'prayer' in our heart continually and throughout our day-be quicker to pray. A sincere prayer will be answered every time. I know that! So join me in praying a little more fervent, intentional and faithful this week! It'll be the highlight of your week I promise!

Have a good one, Happy Easter!
