♦ Elder Miller week 86 (4-8-2024)
Hope your week went well and you were able to tune in to General Conference these last few days!
It was really neat for me. All week long we had been having power blackouts once to twice a day that usually last around 2-3 hours at a time. We kinda had expected to be prepared to play it for everyone on a phone for those chunks of time and sweat it out but we saw such a miracle. All day Saturday and Sunday we had zero blackouts. After a week full of them, it didn't happen. It was such a blessing and God didn't want the people here in Guyana missing out on His word.
Other than that the work here in Triumph is progressing; we were blessed with quite a few facebook referrals of people interested in learning more from us. We are meeting a lot of really neat people and among all the needs we find, we always carry the remedy with the message we share. It is one of my favorite parts of missionary work when you meet someone in so much need, whether that be physically, mentally or even economically and you have exactly what they need in the gospel of Jesus Christ and you can help them discover it.
We got some rain clouds every once in awhile this past week! It felt so good and way worth all the mud stains on our white shirts as we rode around in it. Made the blackouts bearable:)
A quick scripture from the Book of Mormon that I love...
Heleman 5:11
11 And he hath power given unto him from the Father to redeem them from their sins because of repentance; therefore he hath sent his angels to declare the tidings of the conditions of repentance, which bringeth unto the power of the Redeemer, unto the salvation of their souls.
I am so grateful for the gift of repentance. As soon as we decide to repent with a broken heart and contrite spirit, we will be forgiven. Every time. He wants us to become and move forward!
Have a good one!
