♦ Elder Miller week 93 (5-27-24)
It was a pretty good week here! Staying pretty hot but its getting into mango season in the islands and it seems like more often than not we are bringing home a bag of mangos at the end of our day.
As we were talking to new people this week on the road we ran into a super cool lady who is headed to Paris pretty soon here for the Olympics! She competes in BMX bike racing and will be representing Aruba this summer. It was pretty legit to talk to her about it. Shanayah Howell. E ta bai gana tur pa nos!
A couple days ago back in Guyana my friend Kemel was baptized and it was the highlight of my week. He is such a stud and I'm so blessed to have been a part of teaching him. He'll be a strength to the Demerara branch! I'll add a pic.
Our older surinamese friend Loes passed her baptismal interview the other day and will be baptized this coming weekend! We are pretty stoked about it! Anyway, she asked us to find a beach that won't make it hard on her. So this morning before church we went beach hunting for the baptism. It was pretty fun, and we hope the one we picked will be easy enough for her to get in and out of.
In the scriptures this morning I loved this verse...
Moroni 7:14
14 Wherefore, take heed, my beloved brethren, that ye do not judge that which is evil to be of God, or that which is good and of God to be of the devil.
I've seen it before my mission, during, and I know it will be there after. In the world, evil will be seen as normal, and good will be seen as out-dated. If Heavenly Father's plan to bring about our eternal happiness is so important, the adversary will try to frustrate it and there will be opposition in all things.
Have a really good week!
