♦ Elder Miller week week 94 (6-3-24)
Bon dia!
This last week went really well. This will be a pretty quick update from me...
On Saturday our friend Loes was baptized! It was so neat and she was so happy! Her faith blows me away. She is Surinamise and dutch is her native language. There is very little dutch spoken in the church setting here in Aruba, yet she listens and is so content with just being gathered with the saints. You can't be around Loes without going away smiling! My comp and I got to be out in the ocean with her during the ordinance and it will be a special memory of mine.
Early on in the week, the other pair of Elders we live with dropped in a fun surprise...a giant land crab crawling around our apartment! About the size of our shoes and with ridiculous claws. We were able to catch it, put together some boiling water with random spices and then cook it! Just to say we had the full experience we all tried some but it wasn't the best. I think we should of boiled it a little longer, a little chewy. Pretty funny though. I'll add pictures.
Got to go on an exchange up in Noord (my first area) and reunite with some amazing members! I love the people here in Aruba, so many good memories!
A short scripture I wanted to share with you all...
2 Nephi 9:21
21 And he cometh into the world that he may save all men if they will hearken unto his voice; for behold, he suffereth the pains of all men, yea, the pains of every living creature, both men, women, and children, who belong to the family of Adam.
He knows, He understands and He wants to help us. We just have to be willing to turn upward and hearken unto His voice. He will lead us home!
Have a dushi week!
