♦ Elder Miller week 102 (7/29/24) LAST email from the FIELD

E dilaster biaha... It was a storybook ending week to my mission here in Aruba!

My companion and I decided to conquer the island the other day and bike around it completely! 46 miles all the way around! It took us a while and a couple of flats didn't help but we ran into some kind people who let us use a pump once or twice. Fun way to finish off a mission full of biking. It was intense, but pretty cool to say we did it!

On Saturday our friend Rigeneyla was baptized and it was so special! Her faith amazes me. It has been so neat teaching her and watching her progress. An etched-in memory of my mission will always be that beautiful Arubian coastline at that same beach where I have been able to witness so many saints make their first covenant with God. A piece of heaven no doubt!

There is so much that could be said, but a quote that I love will sum it up well... "A man will never be happier than he is grateful"

My mission has shown me what true happiness is; for that reason I have so much to be grateful for...

-for the trust I have been given to be a set apart representative of Jesus Christ

-for the people I have come to love here. They will be family to me always.

-for these beautiful countries, cultures and languages that I have come to know and love

-for miracles everyday that opened my eyes

-for covenants that will bring us home

-for my Savior, Jesus Christ. For His endless patience and kindness towards me and every other child of God I've been privileged to cross paths with.

Can't really put into words the way I feel about these past two years. I've needed every minute and I know I'll think about it each day after this. My mission has meant everything to me! It has changed every aspect of my life and every goal I have for my future.

Along with the Prophet Alma in the Book of Mormon, I rejoice in this, the Lord's work...

Alma 29:9-10: 9...and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy.  10 And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me.

Thanks for letting me share this journey with you all! Your prayers, support and emails have lifted me every week!

Hurrah for Israel!

Signing off...

-Elder Miller
