♦ Elder Miller week 2 (8-30-2022)
This week was so great! I finished up my English portion of the MTC and my Home MTC experience. Starting this week my teachers will only speak to my district in Spanish so that will be crazy. I think my Spanish is getting better, and I am understanding more every day. I have some survival phrases locked in so I'll be able to get by along with the essentials, Food (comida), I have no idea what you just said (no entiendo), and (si, soy un gringo). :p
It has been so cool to be a missionary at home, It was a much needed adjustment time for me, and I have learned so much. It has really gotten me excited to just get out there! So tomorrow is the big day. My flight leaves at 5:30 in the morning and then I am off to Provo for four weeks. Man, these two weeks have flown by. I'm not sure if I will be able to keep myself together tomorrow morning, but I am definitely not banking on it. I am excited to get going but leaving my family tomorrow is going to be super hard.
Already had a few bittersweet goodbyes with my older sisters heading off to school down in Utah, and said goodbye to my extended fam. I love them!
For p-day this week I got to play a little more pickleball and go golfing with my dad and little brother. I needed that…one of the highlights of the week for sure! Got all packed up (only supposed to take 2 small suitcases - so that’s what I’ve got) and am ready to go, well I don't know if ready is the right word….
So excited to meet up with everyone in my district tomorrow and get to work. My MTC p-day will on Wednesdays I'm pretty sure. Thank you for all the emails and love.
One thing that we really hit home this week is that this gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ. He is our focus, so favorite scripture of the week in D&C 68:6...
“ Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.”
LETS GOO!!
Have a great week!
