♦ Elder Miller week 16 (12-5-22)

 Bon Siman Hende!

Hey everyone! Hope you have had a great start to this holiday season! This time of the year  is always one of my favorites even though it is looking quite a bit different for me. I would be lying if I didn't tell you I miss the snow. Sun day in and day out is overrated, but my farmer's tan couldn't be looking better!;) It was a great week here, with many little miracles along the way. I hope you all found the joys of this past week!

I had a few different exchanges this week as we are wrapping up this transfer and my time as a greenie! I am looking forward to working with the challenges that is for sure to bring. Anyway, exchanges are always awesome, and we ran into some pretty amazing people. Even simple things like pulling our bikes to the side of the road to help push a dead car with random people and just jumping in felt so good.

One of the neatest miracles of the week only happened because of the rain! No joke, well actually because God wanted it to happen, but we were just biking along, and it started pouring (it doesn't rain for long here in the islands but when it rains, it pours). We were passing by one of our friends who is kind of on date for baptism, but his mom has said no to the idea because he was already baptized when he was young. He saw us in the rain and let us come in their home. Before this point we had always taught him outside because we weren't welcome in the home, but the mom was okay with it because of the rain. We sat down to give a message and the mom agreed to sit down and listen for a bit. The lesson itself wasn't anything special, kind of on the spot, but at the end, I leaned over and asked our friend, why he wanted to be baptized. He then looked right at his mother, and sincerely said, he wanted to be baptized because the missionaries have told him it will change his life, and he wanted that change. It was such a simple testimony, but the spirit was undeniable. His mom said okay, and we were so stoked. We think/hope that'll be happening in the new year! Pretty amazing!

If you see a picture of me in G-I-Joe uniform, I haven't joined the Aruban Military, we just had a pretty fun p-day activity paintballing! I was wishing I had brought my snow jacket for that!:) But it was way fun and worth the welts! Also a picture of a doll that someone stuck in a cactus a really long time ago  in Aruba-- every missionary takes a picture there... so that's why that picture.

I read over this scripture this week in my studies, and loved it because it is about that time of the year when the Light of the World was born...

Mosiah 16

He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death.

He is the reason for our Christmas season, and he is our most precious gift. Because of Him, victory over death has been won. Let Him direct your life, because his light really is endless, and His way is pure and straight. I hope you will all join me in making Him the center of this Christmas season!

Have a great week! I love you guys!
