♦ Elder Miller week 17 (12-12-22)

Bon Tardi!

Hey everyone! Hope all is well and the start to the Holidays has been awesome for all of you! It was a great week here in Aruba! Lots of service and spending time with some of our inactive member friends! The rain has died down, and now the heat is turning up.

Oh man, gotta love the bikes. Had a few mishaps with the bikes this week that made for some long walks home at night and lots of repairs. But it makes you appreciate the bikes for sure when we have to walk home, so we make them work:). They make for a lot of funny situations.

Transfers are here next week! I will be staying in the north part of the Island and my trainer is off to another island. I am going to be teaming up with another elder from the south that I am way stoked about!

I got to be a part of my first baptismal service this past weekend and it was so neat.  It made me picture all of my friends in the area in white getting ready to enter the waters of baptism and it got me so pumped! I hope we can have a baptism in my area!

Other than that, things are going great! The languages are coming, and I am about to be pushed even more without my trainer who is a fluent Spanish speaker. I am excited for the challenge and know in the long run it is only going to help me.

Favorite scripture of the week is in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 68:

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come.

Maybe because of it being Christmas time, this one especially sticks out to me, but how amazing is the gift of Christ! He lives, and because He lives, we will live again too! So like the scriptures say, be of good cheer, and do not fear, because Christ the Lord was born, and He will come again. We couldn't ask for a better gift!

Please have a great week! Go light the world and spread the joy of Christ! Love you all. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
