♦ Elder Miller week 30 (3-13-23)

Bon Siman!

Hey everyone! Hope you are all well! This week I got some pretty big news! I found out I am going to be transferred to Bonaire! Pretty crazy, I've been in the same area on the same island my entire mission, but tomorrow I am flying to Bonaire! I am excited to see a new island, and meet new people, but I am sad to leave so many people I have grown so close to. We have a couple different friends here in Aruba that will be baptized pretty soon. I'm sad I won't be here but I'll make sure to find a zoom link.

So about Bonaire...I don't know a whole lot. Of the three ABC islands it is the least populated, and my area there will be much smaller. There is one set of Elders and one set of sisters on the island with a senior couple, so it'll be an adjustment for sure. Lot less folks. The island is known for less beaches and more cliffs that make great diving. I have heard from other missionaries there are a lot of flamingoes and donkeys so hopefully I'll have some sweet pictures with them.

This last week we had a District Conference for the three islands. Elder Gavarret of the seventy came and it was so neat to hear him talk about a future temple here with the members. All the islands need is more active priesthood holders to make a stake and then a temple can be put here. The day a temple is announced for these people is going to be so special!

A quick thought I had as I was reading in the Doctrine and Covenants this week. In section 100 this verse really stuck out to me....
Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; speak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be confounded before men;

I love that verse! Go spread the light! Serve someone, or just smile at someone. So many people are in the dark and need the light you hold! Many of us have taken upon ourselves the name of Christ and have promised to always remember Him. What better way to do that, then going and sharing His love!

Have a great week! Hope your families are Well! Ayo!
