♦ Elder Miller week 44 (6-19-23)
Bon siman tur!Happy Father's Day! So grateful for all the dads that have helped me along the way!
This week was up and down for sure! Started out well but midway through my companion got pretty sick and to the point where we didn't think it'd be smart to visit our friends so we had some days locked up in our apartment. It was okay though, got a lot of paperwork with member records figured out that will make us much more productive when we could go out again. Also a big blessing I never caught whatever my companion did.
Last P-day we went on a cool hike, straight uphill, but cool views of the island all the way to the water.
For the lessons we could make happen we saw a lot of cool stuff! We went to a less-active member's home and taught him, and at the end he showed us how to break open a coconut and we tried super fresh coconut water and coconut. It was tasty! He loaded us up too when we left with all sorts of fruits like mango, guava, and more coconut. I really gotta make a smoothie!
We are excited for one of our friends named Osmaila who has a baptismal date for mid-July! She is such a trooper and even wants to finish the entire Book of Mormon before her baptism! We love her!
So some fun, and some not so fun, but we made the most of it and I am looking forward to this next week with no sick bugs!
A quick scripture that really jumped out at me this week that I wanted to share...
Mosiah 4:29-30
29 And finally, I cannot tell you all the things whereby ye may commit sin; for there are divers ways and means, even so many that I cannot number them.
30 But this much I can tell you, that if ye do not watch yourselves, and your thoughts, and your words, and your deeds, and observe the commandments of God, and continue in the faith of what ye have heard concerning the coming of our Lord, even unto the end of your lives, ye must perish. And now, O man, remember, and perish not.
There are so many things in today's world that tempt us and can so easily pull us away from what matters most. When we realize this and actively take steps to defend ourselves from these attacks, we will find true rest and "perish not"!
Have a great week! Thinking about you all!
