♦Elder Miller week 48 (7-17-23)
Hey everyone! Thanks for all the emails and support! It means a lot to me! This week was good! We were able to see a lot of little miracles here as we wrapped up another transfer. Wild.
The members really helped us missionaries out last this week with meals. I am always trying new things and even when it doesn't sit well with me, it is so kind of them to help us out. I think the craziest thing I ate this last week was a tie between a rasin lasagna and some gabritu (goat). Always keeps me on the edge of my seat for sure!
We got to go bond with the Elders quorum this last weekend and it was so sweet. First we did a record speed cleaning the church and then we all hoped in the cars to go across the island for some famous cheap Venezuelan hotdogs. When we pulled up the food truck wasn't there so we had to find something else. 3 stops later we all settled on Burger King hahah. Not so authentic I know. They crack me up, it's got to be really cheap but a ton of food or they don't want anything to do with it.
Transfer news! I get to stay here in the Buena Vista, Curaçao area and I am super happy about that! I am losing my companion Elder Adams though. He us headed to Aruba and my baby area, Noord. I am excited for him and he said he'd say hello for me to everyone there.
Other than that, "alles is goed" (so when a lot of people think we are Dutch, that is the greeting as a question). The work is going, hoping soon for a split in the branch, which would be a big blessing and lead us closer to a stake which would lead us closer to a temple! That will be the best day of my life!
A quick couple verses I loved this week from the Bible...
Mark 11:24-25
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Prayer is so crucial! When we have a prayer in our hearts always, I know we are better prepared and protected from the adversary. I invite everyone to evaluate your prayers, and find one way you can strengthen your relationship with your Heavenly Father. He is always there, eager to listen and help you!
Have a good one! Stay safe!
