♦ Elder Miller week 88 (4-22-24)

 Bon tardi!

This week went really well. We saw so much good! Hope you each had a good week too!

Today for pday I got to go golfing! It has been awhile, so it was so sweet. Not a soul out there so we had a blast. I played once  on the island of Bonaire a year ago so I was way rusty but had a ton of fun.

One night we stopped by the church where our branch was facing off another branch in a cricket tournament. It was pretty fun to watch and learn how to play the sport. Crazy how big it is here. Its like a mix of baseball and bowling. Pretty legit!

My testimony of the Priesthood has been strengthened these past few weeks. In not wanting to talk lightly or throw around sacred experiences I won't go into detail about these moments. However, recently I've witnessed the power of God in the work of heaven heal broken bodies and spirits. I know the heavens are open today and God wants us to receive His miracles.

There is a scripture in the Bible that I love to share with the people we teach...

Matthew 11:28-30
28 ¶ Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light

A 'yoke' is a device used to reduce and share a load between two animals. When we are 'yoked' with the Savior, we are making and keeping covenants with Him. As we pull together, Jesus Christ lifts our burden.

Guyana is full of cows, and not cows far away in fields, they are everywhere! In the streets, trenches and around homes in every village. Lately as I have pondered this scripture, these cows remind me of that 'yoke' that Christ is beckoning us to join. I invite each of you to find ways to remember the covenants you have made.

Have a good week! Enjoy spring!
