♦ Elder Miller week 91 (5-13-24)

 Bon siman!

Hey everyone! After a few very hard goodbyes in Guyana, I made it back alright to Aruba. So pumped to be back and see what the Lord has in store this time around!

I am living in a 4-man set up which is a first on my mission. Never a dull moment for sure and makes it fun to be around a bunch of Elders more often.

We met a Colombian family this past week and they invited us over for a Mothers day BBQ the other night. When we arrived they had the grill loaded with all sorts of meat. Like Sausage, steak, pork chops, ribs, chicken and chorizo! So much. We thought nobody had eaten yet but then they got two plates for us and divided every last piece of meat on that thing just for us. Holy smokes, it was a ton of meat! We chowed on as much as we could, but thankfully they gave us a bag so we could take it with us. At our next appointment we gave a member family the extras; about a week's supply of protein no joke. Everybody was winning that night.

Other than that, Aruba is so good. Went from a fun rainy season in Guyana to a heat wave out here, but the wind helps. Got to go to church yesterday and reunite with some amazing members!

I love a constant theme found in the scriptures that I wanted to share with you all today...

1 Nephi 4:14
14 And now, when I, Nephi, had heard these words, I remembered the words of the Lord which he spake unto me in the wilderness, saying that: Inasmuch as thy seed shall keep my commandments, they shall prosper in the land of promise.

The Bible and the Book of Mormon repeatedly teach us that people will prosper in the land only if they obey the commandments of God. In the standard works, it is mentioned 34 times! I know that true joy and prosperity can only be found as we follow our Savior Jesus Christ. That kind of happiness will last forever!

Have a great week! Love you all!
